My first plan of action when I get home tonight is to catch it on HBO on Demand. I was going to watch but was preoccupied with Yankees-Mets last night.

Very good show. Looks like it has promise. Let's hope the writing continues to be strong, edgy and unpredictable ...

Agreed. Sorkin has the tendency to incorporate overly-verbose monologues for his characters in his work that kind of makes it unrealistic (who the hell talks like that?). But I enjoyed it. I thought Jeff Daniels, who I haven't really followed throughout his career since Dumb and Dumber, was really good.

Let's see if it still stays tight when the romantic element is enhanced ... that is always dicey.

One episode and it's Jeff Daniels best acting thus far in his career. (He hasn't been too great)
They've developed a lot of characters within one episode, which is generally very hard to do.

Haven't watched an HBO show since the last episode of the Sopranos and the first 20 minutes of John from Cincinatti.

Fool me once, shame on you.

I watched the first episode last night and I enjoyed it. I like how the pace picked up towards the end of the show when the program went 'live'. I really hope the love interest angles (Daniels and the Producer, and the intern-associate producer with the two other producers) does not supercede the potential of this show. Jeff Daniels turned into a law counselor going back and forth with the Haliburton rep and the mole. I liked it.

Pretty poor second episode. It's getting silly.

Why was it poor in your opinion? I thought it was funny how they messed up the AZ immigrant story. And that girl Sloane is a cute addition. Of course they have to maintain the "love" aspect to keep ahold of the female demographic.

Pretty good banter as well. Explain your reasoning sir!

Honestly, just watching Bill Maher is infinitely more satisfying and engrossing than this show. For whatever reason, I can't stay interested in the Newsroom for more than 20 minutes.

The Mackenzie-McAvoy relationship is already on my nerves. I thought the scene where she got called out for e-mailing the whole company was completely ridiculous and silly. Also, I find the Maggie Jordan-Jim Harper scenes to be unbearable. She is completely unlikeable and he is a smug little sht. I guess the love angles are killing it for me. Since i've only seen two episodes thus far, it's hard to really get in deep with the characters since they are still developing. I find the dialogue to be a bit verbose at times, and irritating. I will still watch, but i'm not entirely impressed thus far.
