    Hey Eagle Fans...

Do you guys know a person by the name of 'Jeff Owens'? He was drafted in the 7th round in '10 and also played at Georgia. I only bring it up because his resume just landed on my desk and have a phone interview scheduled with him (I recruit for the company he is looking to join). GAV, Super, got anything I should ask him?
Welker a possesion WR's just like all Caucasian WR's so when you can no longer do that, you gotta sit the bench or learn how to kick FGs or Punts -STICKTHEVICKTIM

Looks like he was a beast at Georgia. He didn't play much as a Philadelphia Eagle though.

Pretty cool to have a former NFL player come in. Ask him what it was like to play in the league, who was he tight with on the team, and what did he think of Andy Reid.

I remember him. Defensive tackle who tore up his knee a couple of years ago and got cut. Aside from that, don't know much though.

The interview went well for his sake. He sounded well rounded and very intelligent. He has a ton of contacts within the SEC and is very business savvy. I joked around about the Eagles-Giants rivalry a bit. He told me Andy Reid is a class act, and that they run a tight ship.

Good to hear. The average NFL career is like 3.5 years or something so he falls right into that demo. Good to see that he has a fallback plan.

They need to stress this stuff to rookies at the Symposium that the NFL has annually. I know they just had it and they had Vick there talking which is good. If I were the NFL, I wouldn't bother having unblemished stars talk like Tebow, Drew Brees, or the Mannings. They should get guys like Vick or guys from other leagues have gone bankrupt, got in trouble with the law, and learned a valuable lesson from it. Sure those guys like Tebow and Brees can provide some insight, but me personally would get more out of a guy like hearing Vick talk, what he learned, and how he is going about changing his image.

It's like the drug assemblies they used to have in high school. You have to scare the crap out of these kids. Forget having the principal give a presentation and bring in a guy who has hit rock-bottom, experienced the lowest of lows, and is on the path to recovery.

You don't need to scare the crap out of them. Just make them aware of the realities in a way that hits home.

You realize that the vast majority of NFL players were lucky to get the GPA required to get their scholarship even when they took the most basic classes offered right?

NCAA division 1 requires athletes to take 16 core classes that are all at a certain level that most high school counselors will only put a kid in if they believe the kids college bound. So im not sure about "most basic classes offered".

Plus once any scholarship athlete gets to college, most of the kids end up having a near perfect GPA due to all the help they get and most large programs give all their scholarship kids individual tutors.

When I say he has connections in the SEC, I meant that he knows lots of players within the conference who are NFL bound and/or within the NFL system now. Essentially he is trying to start his own insurance practice and the company I represent can give the tools to succeed. It's all about connections at the end of the day and he has access to young guns with millions of dollars at their disposal.

Owens was a good DT at Georgia. He battled some knee injuries but I remember when Florida would play them he was always pretty disruptive. Mofo was strong too. He benched 225 for 44 reps at the combine.
