Defending slants, drags, shallow cross, and "holy trinity" concepts

Madden changes each year but some concepts remain the same. In this video I share a strategy I like to employ to combat slants and drags. Just something for you guys to keep in mind for NCAA 13 and Madden 13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4pYR61Tt3s

This concept is great. I use this with my Linebackers though when I am in zone. Move them around before snap and they will drift back to the pre-assigned hook zones.

I like that concept only thing I didn't like was the chosen animation. Brian Dawkins was going the opposite way and slides back and jumps to make the play come on ea.

It's called the "Two Catch". Tampa used it as a change up to the vanilla Tampa 2. Awesome concept, both in real life and Madden.

I've heard called many things. A lot of concepts are tough to try to mimic in Madden. There's a man concept used as well. Madden does implement the "green" blitz very well. I remember Mich mentioning how they ruined the zone blitz in which the dlineman would rush the passer and then drop back. That should've stayed in the game, but yeah I love the concept as well.

Yeah that's my only gripe with madden really. It's tough to mimic a lot of defensive strategies effectively. This is awesome though, good job. I've been trying to get the right zones on this for what seems like forever.

Didn't Madden even have smart zones at one point? I could be mistaken

Yeah, I wanna say 07 or 08 was the last year though. If I remember correctly, it would pull all the coverage to the first down marker.

Bottom line is that moving parts confuse reads.

I do something eerily similar. I'll take a slot corner vs. bunch, spy him, and place him 5 yards outside, so post snap, he drops back over the middle. All you need sometimes is to disrupt a players timing by two tenths of a second.
