Mavericks are starting to make some moves now. Signed Chris Kaman for one year and 8 million and just did a sign and trade of Ian Mahinmi to the Pacers for Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones. Mahinmi is getting 4 years and $16 million with the Pacers.

Um, Indiana, are you trying to suck next year? What a terrible trade for Indiana and a steal for Dallas.

Dallas moves are not impressive....Kaman stinks, and Collison isnt anything special, but fills the void after losing Kidd....either way Dallas has no shot next year with that squad....

Losing Collison is not a huge loss for Indy, but they need to add a PG or did they draft one?

Collison had the best playoff PER this past year of anyone on his team. George Hill is their starting PG and no they didnt draft one. Why the hell would Indiana pay a backup center $4 million a year and to get him they give up a young, talented point guard and a good wing defender in Jones. Horrible.

As for Dallas, Collison is better than any free agent point guard left on the market. Pretty good getting him for a backup center in a trade. Filled a HUGE position of need. Kaman is only signed to one year so his contract is totally based off performance not to mention they are going after Elton Brand in the amnesty auction. Jones is a very solid wing defender which the Mavs also needed. Obviously their team could have been much better, but these are great consolation prizes noone saw coming.

Miami is only different as they have the best player in the league involved.
The celtic fans better not complain about "buying" a title, because they bought one. That team was destined to lose 82 games until garnett and allen arived. Just saying...

They are an upgrade to anything else they had at those positions. Collison is better than Kidd at this point and Kaman is better than........hell I dont even know the Center.

They F'd up last year when they let Chandler and Butler walk.

They aren't going to have a single dollar tied up in 2013 at this rate other than those guys they just drafted.

    .

because hibbert cant stay in the court, and when he gets in foul troublem the team is significantly worse on both ends. mahimni is a solid player. he will help them more then collison would, and they can still add one of the several solid reserve PG's left in FA(jeryd bayless?)

what point guards? Bayless signed with Memphis, Aaron Brooks signed with Phoenix and so on. There is noone left on the market and last I checked Collison had way more upside than George Hill. I would never pay $4 million a year to a career backup center. The dude was a third string center on the championship team. Plus, they gave up a great young point guard and a good wing defender for him to play backup. The sign and trade was really stupid.

Collison is not great, .....didn't they sign DJ Augustin? If he's stays healthy he's pretty much just as good as Collison.
