    The Strip button needs tweaking

It's one of those features that gets often over looked in madden discussions. It needs to be tweaked. Against most avid players it's their only form of tackling. Running towards a player and pressing Y. Then you get a series of about 3-4 "canned" animations. In the NFL or football at any level it's about wrapping up the ball carrier.

Personally I don't think they make the strip button risky enough. Sure you'll break more tackles against someone who tries to strip all game but often what the strip button does is even if you've broken the tackle the animation from the broken tackle slows the ball carrier down, thus other defenders have time to catch up. So even then it's still over-effective.

They need to tweak some slider settings or something. You shouldn't want to press strip all the time. It should give you that feeling.

    Thoughts?

Yeah you don't even get called for 15 or five yard face mask. If it does it's rarely called. Breaking tackles is meaningless if you are coughing up the ball 4 to 6 times a game because of the animation. That's just not a proper balance of something that is a high risk play. Why press the normal tackle button when you can get a better tackle plus reward with a fumble with the strip button. Madden has always over done things.

The sad thing is, Ive gotten out of the habbit of hitting the strip button over the course of the pass month and realize that the tackle button is bad that you would be a fool to use it over the strip. That must change in 13. X gives you a slow motion dive animation......its so bad and awkward looking.

wait, there is a tackle button?? ya talking about the assist button? shoot i just go in and either try to strip or hitstick usually.... i will say the assist button can be usefull for shooting gaps when trying to disrupt a run play, other then that it sucks imo

I popped in the older Maddens and I was still mashing that LB to strip. I'm going to have to unlearn that.
