Reminded me of the phat grip for the water sport stuff.

As long as it's a different industry, it's all good.

    Chevy cars/Chevy restaurants

    Delta faucets/Delta airlines

    Pioneer stereos/Pioneer seeds

It is possible for more than one company to have trademark rights in the same word or phrase in different industries. The question in these kinds of circumstances is often whether the goods or services offered by the two companies are sufficiently related such that a consumer would be likely to think a company providing the first product or service would be reasonably likely to provide the second product or service also.

This is EXACTLY like those situations. The only difference is both Fat Gripz and Phat Gripz need the mistaken traffic to boost sales. I don't even want to bring up how the increasingly popular Phag Gripz plays into the equation.

On a serious note, I wonder if these are legit (as in improving weight training). Kind of expensive for what they are though.

There is nothing serious about this discussion. They made that decision when they added a, "Z," to the end of the product name.
