What are the benefits of playing earlier versions?

I just ordered the Madden 13 but haven't played it yet. Should I or could I go back to older versions and start my team from those versions to get the special cards ?

If you have played previous versions of Madden you will get some free packs. As long as you accepted TOS with the same gamertag that you will be using to play MUT 13. Below is a detailed breakdown

Here's how the rewards unlock:

-The trigger for the reward is accepting the Terms of Service agreement to go online with your previous NFL game.
-All your rewards are tied to the email address of your EA Account. No saves or achievements or anything like that needed to trigger the rewards. You just had to play online.
-You MUST use the same EA Account/email address for Madden NFL 13 you used to sign online for the first time in the other games
-Yes, if you owned Madden 10/11/12 on PS3, and then bought Madden NFL 13 on 360, and used the SAME email for your EA account on both platforms, you will unlock the rewards for Madden NFL 13 on 360 regardless of what platforms you played the previous games on

NOTE: Some titles that qualify for Gridiron Club no longer offer online services, so unless you played them online when they were available, you will NOT be able to play them now to make sure you get the rewards in Madden NFL 13. Those titles are:

Complete 50 Collections = Free Legendary Pack

Have a deck worth 500k = Free Reward Pack (level TBD)
Spend 1,000,000 coins on packs = Free Reward Pack (level TBD)

IMO if you never played MUT 12 don't worry as you won't be able to earn any of the packs listed above in a few days.

Dam I missed it this year but in august when the new 25 year anniversary comes out. Ill be on top of my MUT game
