Madden 25 Top 5 Tips to Improve Your Defense Overnight

In this weeks video I will be using one of the best defensive schemes in the game to illustrate these tips. This will be a preview to a mini scheme out of the nickel normal coming next week, but for starters a lot of people have shown blitzes with the sugar defenses and these were in the game last season, but please not these concepts apply to plays other than the sugar plays, but the sugar plays are faster to set up. More on that coming soon, but if this video helps you or you think it had some good information then please share it on twitter so other madden players can improve as well. Remember maddentips.com is a community that exists to help madden gamers improve at the game. Hope this gets you thinking and we will be back next week to break down the entire nickel defense. Thanks for watching and see you next week!

Some great tips. Question on the last tip in the video. The strategy is to blitz on the short side of the field. What is the theory on why that is better? is it because most people are working the wide side and are not looking at the short side? Does it protect you better from getting burned? Just trying to get a better understanding of this strategy, it seems like it could be a killer tip, just looking for a more details explantion. He may have said why and I missed it, or I could be dense, or both , but any more info would be great! Thanks!

I would say because the QB would probably scramble to where there is more field rather than into defenders closer to the sideline.

i like to blitz from the short side because most players want to throw wheel routes or flat routes to the wide side of the field
