    user big hits...

Why does it seem impossible to lay out a user big hit in this year's game? I have tried doing it with the R3 button like it says, but it never seems to work. Seems like the animation occurs late or something. This is frustrating. I guess we are back to defending the pass with either a swat or an interception only. But this is terrible because when a defender is behind the receiver he can't swat or intercept it, he only is in position to lay out a hit and jar the ball loose, but if user bih hit does not work, then the defense is really screwed. And that's a shame in a game in which offense is already easy enough. I really wish they had left it in the game and let L@ lay out the hit--I need to bad!

r3, L2 is an inactive button (and i miss it being there) in the 2005 settings, but i understand why they moved it there. just wish you could get the "user big hit" animation. you don't always get it and just because you flick the stick doesn't mean it will work.

By pressing L2 if you're using 2005 setting. I never use the R3 stick on Defense after the snap.

I've noticed in 06 that the 'big hit' works better when used with R1 (strafe).
i was missing big hits left and right or I would hit player and just bounce off.
since i started using big hit with R1 i have had more success.
it still is not the same timing as madden05 but has gotten better with more playing time as I adjusted to game speed
