I was wondering what you guys think are the best offensive and defensive playbooks so far.
Last year, I know the Pass Balanced playbook was widely used and considered the "best" according to the VG book.

Kinda like asking "What's the best shoe size?" Whichever one fits you best.
I know it's whatever works best for you... I was just saying, like the Pass Balance was the "best" last year, according to VG. So what is the "best" this year?Originally Posted by SweetMonkeyLuv
The Panthers, Vikings, Pass-Balanced and this year Run-N-Gun makes it back to the top of the charts. Run-N-Gun has many nice formations such as Shotgun trips, Shotgun trips bunch, weak I, Full house, strong I. That might be the pb I stick with this year.

Yeah, that weak I-tight is a mother. It may take me a while to learn that pb but that is the one that I like. The full-house formations are very nice too. This pb reminds me a lot like last years Green Bay pb. The run n gun is nice, very nice.

I've been using a formation similar to that, the I form twin tight out of atl's playbook. Its sick. I haven't found it in any other pb's yet.Originally Posted by mddnplyr

NFL Fo Real 2 Raiders: 9-5-2 (AFC West Division Champs)
NFL Fo Real 3 Titans: 10-6
X and O's Vikings: 13-3 (NFC North Division Champs)
I have just use the PACK pb, because this year game allows you to run the U-41 formation which basically puts 6 OL, 1-2TE and 1RB, and either have 1-2 wr, and 1fb. And the u-41 is basically used on several different formations which makes for some good positive run plays against "D" that bring heat or is really good upfront with that added blocking. Also, it has enough passing plays for me.

Have the playbooks changed all that much in 06? The St. Louis playbook was my bread and butter in 05, and it looks like they have basically an identical playbook this year with only a few additions.
My fave formations are ones that can easily confuse the defense, and I usually start most games from these formations to loosen my opponent up. I like to run from the Singleback 4 Wide Set and the Singleback 3 receiver bunch set, then pass from the I-form Twin TE and Singleback Big 2 TE set. Once you get your opponent on tilt then you can go back to pounding the ball in the big formations and passing them in the 4 receiver formations.
Well, just to show you that there is no answer to your question, I thought Jax was the "Best" last year. After that it was Denver then Wash then Minny.Originally Posted by Petrags23

STL was one of the better playbooksOriginally Posted by BigLaBellski
you just have to go into practice mode and try a few out. It depends on you;
Do you like to run a lot, pass alot. It also depend on your favorite formations.
As for me, I've used the dallas playbook since 2002 on Game Day, and then 2003 - 2005 on Madden. Its simple, got everything i need, and I know the plays like the back of my hand. If one man isn't open, I know where my 2nd and 3rd options are supposed to be.
The dallas play book has changed dramatically this year (on madden) and don't contain a lot of my plays, but do have some other good ones though. So I'm gonna peep some other playbooks.

Rumor has it that STL is virtually unchanged, but I'd say others are wildly different and/or expanded.
