Not playing for a few days

this game has severely pissed me off. not taking anything away from my opponents at all. allow me to show you why:

    game 1

league game for my other league at bicus. purdue vs michigan state. I HAD 7 DROPS!!!! and i was friggin purdue. make it so bad, 2 of those were when my impact player was "in the zone" wtf is that? not to mention that both williams and the giant combined had 5 of those 7 drops. oh, and the giant had 6 receptions.................3 of which he fumbled. wtf? needless to say, i won the game.

    game 2

played against buckin canes 2 last night. game was good. good rivalry game, miami vs fsu (me). start off good. why, all of a sudden, does xavier lee start really overthrowing passes? i mean REALLY over throwing guys, by like 15 yards. so i sit him down. still in the game, but needing to rally a little bit, so i put in wyatt. what happens? pick city. i ended up conceding

game 3 (the one that topped them all)

played m-dub last night. not taking anything away from you man, but you can verify yourself. had to be the worse passing performance since madden 95 for me. just ridiculous. we play nebraska vs colorado (i'm always up for rivalry games). i start off hot, completing 7 of my first 10 passes (one for a touchdown) and had an early 14-0 lead. why, all of a sudden, did i throw 4 (COUNT THEM, FOUR) picks in a row on consecutive drives? talk about being pissed. 2 of them i'll take the blame for, but the other 2 were just crazy. after the first 2 i took out the starting qb and put in the backup. so i think i still had the lead at the half. at this point, i'm thinking run the ball. needless to say, i threw 2 maybe even 3 passes the whole entire 2nd half (not like me at all). can someone tell me why one of those passes was overthrown by 15 yards (when i needed it too, to make it so bad)? the other pass was a screen that was completed for like 4 yards. not even sure i threw a 3rd pass. that topped the cake for me right there

again, i'm not taking anything away from my opponents at all, but those kinda performances are just crazy. i think i need a mini vacation or something

Well DJ now you know how I feel after my QB's 3int in the red zone performance yesterday. Corner routes that he threw into the middle of the field and so forth. That game had the makings of a classic, and now I know I'm working on how to stop the super jump, things might be different.

In a game this morning I had two fumbles inside the 5 that would have made the game close or tied. Ouch.

the passing game is such a huge part of my game. without it, i'm pitiful. i mean i don't use play action (personally i think it's rather lame IMO, but to each his own), but it's not like i throw into double or triple coverages either. i feel like awn without his hb direct right now. i just don't know what to do

oh, there's one more game i wanted to tell you guys about:

florida vs miami (i'm florida go figure)

anyways, chris leak is ballin. has thrown 3 touchdowns and we have a comfortable lead. what happens? pick. they score. next drive, drivin down the field.......pick. they score. i took leak out and put in gavin dickey. dickey lead the charge for the win. how in the hell does dickey come in ballin when leak can't hit the broad side of a barn?

no more scrambling qb's for me. give me pocket passers

Once last year I was playing as OSU at Cal or ucla, i am not sur which. anyway, the player was not naearly as good as me. Smith and Zwick combined for 7 picks. I was down by 14 with 2 minutes left and he had the ball. But i knew i could stop them. I put in my 3rd stringer, ROb Schoeneft or somehting, cuz smith and zwick were both - 12 or so. He came back, forced OT and I won in 5 OTs

i think i pissed dub off last night (and if i did man, i really apologize). i was literally that mad. i mean i couldn't even sleep because of it. come on 4 consecutive picks in a row with 2 different qb's? what are the chances of that happening? all these games are spread out over the course of 3 days. while i was able to overcome most of them, it's still besides the point. you guys think i'm joking. i litterally threw 2 passes, that i knew of (not sure about the 3rd), the whole second half. even when i have a huge lead i throw more than that. dub will vouch for me on that.

i can understand if i take a chance throwing into double coverage, or i make a bad read. but what i don't get is how my qb can be on fire (or hell not even attempt a pass) and yet still over throw a wr by 15 yards. that's just crazy. and i'm not even fluttering the ball up there. i guess the only way to truely test this would be to play with usc (then again, i hate lefty qb's so i'd probably still throw picks).

I was plying 40 acr This past weekend. Lost by 7.. I threw like 5 user picks...IN THE SAME GAME!!!! Couldn't tell the distance of the wr for anything. Every deep pass he caught was user catch. I was like bull... Come on with the B.S. So u are not the only one that has problems. Just have to strap it up and ply through it...

i'm seriously gonna break something if i play this game anytime soon. my stress level has to come down some before i play again. I LOST SLEEP OVER THIS GAME FOR GOD'S SAKE!!! just knowing i threw 5 picks made me sick to my stomach. i can be one dimensional passing, i can't be one dimensional running. especially when my pb only has 2 running formations in it.

Somebody slap DJ please!!!! I got shut out 70-0 Colorado vs. NCst. I was colorado.. I was in rare form that day. The defenders were in hyper sensitive mode. Jumping 5 ft and everything.. His plyers were bouncing off tackles and I was cursing like a sailor on bourbon street... LOL... He was running the Shotgun tight HB direct.. I was like... Revenge is a mother... LOL.. Well I toughed it out and just practiced on stopping the HB direct tight shotty... Some times the cpu looks at you pulls out his u know what, and just start hosing... Just get an umbrella and go singing in the rain!!!!

There are far worse things in life...I have a friend who was paralyzed in an accident 3 years ago and started to move his fingers last year. Before that, this was the only game he owned-now on a good day he might be able to move his thumb from the x button to the circle button. It's all about perspective...I think you'll be okay.

Its all about momentum, ive seen some crazy **** when the other guy grabs momentum with an 80 yard run on the 2nd play of the game or the like. You can get back into it, but you need a really nice play or a few nice plays to get out of the bad luck. A 80 yard run against ur defense affects your whole team, even offense and boost the other teams defense. Player ratings almost dont matter when it comes to momentum. Its super frustrating when you are on the bad end of it...but super fun when you have the good luck momentum.

I know how it feels to lose becuase of luck. I played Oklahoma (I was OHio ST.) and My opponent scored on an opening kickoff. on the ensuing kickoff Ted Ginn fumbles. he scores. Then i have a good methodical drive down to the 10. then i run a drag and Holmes fumbles. I quit after that.

    DJ,
You didn't piss me off at all man. If anything, I thought I pissed you off, especially after the game, when you just typed "bs" and bailed. lol I thought about offering a FQ, but like several other people in this thread, I've sat through plenty of those frustrating games myself. I gotta take any win I can, even if the CPU hands it to me on a silver platter with a side of garlic mashed potatoes.

    Kaidog,
I disagree with your comment that it's fun when the momentum is rolling your way. I guess I'd rather win on my own merits than have the game decided by the CPU. I hate it when it goes against me, and I feel bad for my opponent if it's happening to them. I just hate how rare it is that a game is actually decided by who calls & executes the better plays. Far too often, one lucky play can make a close game snowball into a blowout.

i dont like the cpu deciding the game for me either... if i strip u fine but if the cpu just decides to make you fumble i very well might punt the ball back....

the last game i played against dj it was zero zero he forced me to punt and as the ball bounced inside the ten dj ran his guy away only to have the cpu controlled part of his team try and make a one hand catch on the 5 well of course the ball was muffed and i recovered on the 4................ i immediately punted the ball back because i didnt want a fluke to determine who won...
