    PS2 Online Adaptor

I've got the adaptor for my PS2 and the cd that comes along with it. My PS2 is having trouble reading it. After it gets done reading the disc it says "read error". Has anybody experienced this or am I doing something wrong?

I used to get dre's all the time on my old ps2. I'm not 100% sure you actually need that disc. Try connect online through NCAA. I think you can set up a connect from there.

yeah, the people from sony told me I could use one of my games to establish a connection. I haven't had any luck in getting connected. I called my ISP (Bellsouth) to get the dail-in number.

I use the number they gave me for the call to the outside line, but I don't know what numbers to use when it asks for 3 numbers for you ISP provider. Like I said Bellsouth only gave me one number. It's the same number I use on my computer. In the manual it says that I can use a phone line straight from the phone jax to the consol to get a connection. I have an external modem from my computer I don't know if I should try to use it.

Each time I try to get a connection it tells me it's either busy, invalid number, or no carrier. I've just been using the number that Bellsouth gave me on "outside line" and for the 3 numbers it asks for the ISP Provider.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?

So you're using dial-up. Just a dumb suggestion, but make sure the phone line is plugged into the phone jack port and not the ethernet port. I've never connected the ps2 to the internet using dial-up. And chances are, they're asking for three numbers just in case one is busy.

After talking to Sony and Bellsouth for the millionth time we finally got it online. Sony told me to use dashes and commas seperating my numbers, Bellsouth told me not to. Bellsouth was right.

But dial-up connection sucks! I wish I could get DSL but it's not available in my area. I'd have to live in town. Anyways, is there another way that I can improve my connection while using dial-up? Certain type of phone line?

I keep losing connection when I'm choosing a team to play with. I haven't lost connection during a game, but it seems to screw with it. So slow.

Radioshack sells what is called noise filters. It's just an attachment. Couple of bucks. When I had dialup, this helped considerably. They also make high quality phone lines.
