Does anyone out there use a USB GO-net Broadband Network Adaptor for their PS2?

I have a regular network adapter which at the moment keeps on giving me errors, so i borrowed this USB type net adapter from a friend and am unable to get online with it.

I have high speed cable access and a hub. No router at all, and no firewall to worry about.
I have tried going directly from cable modem to this usb adapter as well as from my hub to the adapter and still nothing. I get to the screen where it says Authenticating DNS Data and then it pops up and says : DNAS ERROR (-611) A Network error has occured. Cancel or retry. I click retry and get same message.

if anyone out there has used one of these with cable or know someone who has, please let me know.
