    no-draft tip:

Some guys like to cheat the CPU by getting the 1st overall pick by trading with the worst team... I dont.

I just trade away most of my picks during the season.

So I trade Rossum and a first round pick for DeAngelo Hall and a 2nd round pick...
Instant upgrade, and that 2nd rounder can be used to upgrade my 2nd string.

    Ends up with:
after the draft (where I only take the best kicker or punter in the 5th round) I just check for all the best rookies and trade for them with my new draft picks.

    It's like drafting backwards!

Any of you guys do this??

Did I mention that the team you trade with eats all the bonus cap space??

    I dont like that trade.

If you had DeAngelo Hall, would you trade him and your 2nd round pick for a 1st round pick and rossum?

    I wouldn't.

I try to base my trades looking from the other teams POV.

Trading away your draft picks is a classic madden chise strategy though, since you know what your getting, instead of taking a shot at a draft pick, plus the CPU classicly values draft picks higher than players worth.

To me the draft is one of the funnest parts so I am the opposite ... the first few years I will trade away vets especially if they are 32+ or have 1 year on their contract left for more draft picks. In my 4th year I probably have 80% of my starters coming from my draft .. and some of them are beasts. I also have a tendency to get attached to some of my players and never want to get rid of them.
