Help with Auburn

I don't have a clue as to what offense to run with this team. I have tried a little bit of everything, but the offense just doesn't seem to explode. The offense has some good strengths like the WR's and RB but I dont know how to maximize them. Anyone got a good playbook that suits this team?

Auburn has a very talented group of receivers and some above average tailbacks in Smith and Irons. Start Irons ahead of Smith. I think EA has Mix as 3rd receiver, I would put Ben there instead and put Mix at 4th. CT and Devin should be your outside targets.

EA screwed us on the Offensive Line because this line is much better than what EA has but you have to work with what you got. Given that your line can't hold blocks long enough to give you a deep to intermediate passing game most of the time nor can they really open up holes consistently, I would use a spread style offense with emphasis on the run. Irons will make plays if there is room and Cox has the arm to make the throws. Stick with the short passing game and check down to runs when you see a chance.

So something like the power spread would be what i'm looking for. Maybe West Virginia's playbook would work.

Taking a look now at the team....OMG are you kidding me run the WCO looking at the team you have like 3 good backs and great WRs but your QB isnt the greatest. You will have to throw some short passes and run the ball. Dont worry about big plays until you can get your QB up to an 85 in ratings. Use alot of single back spread forms so you can create one on one match ups for your RB's. If there is 7-8 in the box throw screens and short stuff to the WR's and HB. If there is 5-6 in the box run because you will have a one on one with safety or LB. With those Half backs you have they can either drag them for yards or break the tackle and run forever. Look at playbooks like San jose state, Utah state and Notre dame. Those are a few I can think of. Maybe even USC has a decent one I believe.

You will probably run more than you pass with this group though. Look at a 35-65 run pass ratio. The pass plays will be big plays though once you throw in play action and go deep. This is after you get your QB in rythm and his ratings up to 85.

The offense I run has elements of the Power spread, the RNG, and West Coast. The Power spread is all about running the football out of SG while keeping the defense on their heels with short and deep passes to guys in 1 on 1 matchups. Thats nice and all but I usually feel more comfortable running the ball with my QB under center.

My PB also has ace formations that feature multiple receivers (3-4 and/or TE) and a single back and I can pass and run out of these easily. Also I have I normal and Strong I twins. Both are two-back sets in which i can sub in both tailbacks and the defense won't know who's getting it. Now granted, passing the ball with two tailbacks in protection isn't gonna help much cause they can't block as well as FB's but with the HB sub package, you can sneak the HB out of the backfield from the FB position and hit him with a pass. Remember, Tre Smith and Irons can catch pretty well.

The rest of my pb is all 5 WR sets and SG cause I like to pass. But watch out for cpu/players subbing in OLB's at DE when running 4-5 wides. The tackles no matter how good cannot stop them.
