    Rivalry Poll

    Gators-Dogs, Noles-Tide, Canes-Noles...

All this rivalry talk...I think I feel a poll coming on...

What's the Best College Football Rivalry?

I thought of like 22 off the top of my head, but you can only put 10 on the poll.

    Props to:

    Cal-Stanford
    USC-UCLA
    FSU-Florida
    Texas-A&M
    Nebraska-Colorado
    Florida-Tennessee
    SC-Clemson
    Tech-Georgia
    Iowa-I-State
    Virginia-VaTech
    Miami-BC
    Washington-Wassu
...and a bunch of others that couldn't fit on the list...

Multiple votes allowed. Your name will be by your vote.

Consider tradition, pagentry, close games, rancor between fans, all that good stuff.

Talk a little smack for your team, too (good natured, of course ).

If you've been to one of these games and can testify to the excitment, please share your experiences with the group!

    I'm predicting Army/Navy in a runaway...

(Sorry if this has been done recently. I did a forum search, but I didn't see anything.)

Heh. Yep. Kind of funny that BYU has two rivalry games called the "Holy War", the other being against Notre Dame. Christ who DOESN'T Notre Dame have a rivalry game with?

Yea ive been to a Michigan Ohio State game a couple of times at the big house and the excitement is virtually amazing. Everyones so pumped up for the game, even the old 70+ year olds. The fans go crazy on virtually every single play, and whenever Michigan scores, Hail to the Victors just rampens the stadium. Even though ive never been to the other rivalry games, this one has the most intensity ive ever seen.

IMO Michigan vs Ohio Stae is the biggest rivalry in college football. The media and each of the teams fans judge the players and coaches by how they perform in this game. Just look at John Cooper he was a good coach, but got fired because he could never beat Michigan, also Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson won the Heisman mostly because of their huge performance in this rivalry game.

If you are the head coach at either of these schools and you consistently lose this rivalry game then you will surely be fired. I believe that Lloyd Carr will be fired at the end of next season if he doesn't beat Ohio State this year or next.

Favorite Rivalry Name: The Backyard Brawl (WVU-Pitt)

"Best Rivalry" (which I don't believe in because all rivalries mean something...that's why they are rivalries): It's a tie between Michigan/Ohio State and Army/Navy

I am pretty sure if I had a choice between tickets to the Super Bowl and tickets to see undefeated Ohio State play undefeated Michigan in the Big House, I'm headed to Ann Arbor.

Seems like that game always has national title implications, Heisman implications, or somebodys job on the line.

...but I'd take Army Navy tickets too
