How come I can only change some players postitions?

How come I can only change certian players posotions?

I have young low AWR WRs and TEs. And I have a SS who has really high AWR, and decent CTH, but when I go to change his position, its grayed-out, and i cant change anything.

any suggestions?

WEll probably because they never played that position in college.

no its not that they have never played the position, you gotta have enough for the breakdown, so like if u only have two Strong Safeties, sign another one and u can switch the one to WR

Sometimes its not this tho, when u get someone through trade or free agancy u cant change their positions until the next year

I don't think you can make anyone into a QB though. I have Matt Jones, and he was a QB in college, and I still could not convert him over to QB. The only options I believe were HB, WR, TE, CB, SS, FS and FB? I can't remember exactly but at any rate, I don't think it is possible to make any player into any position, just a few positions. Anyone know more about this? Is it just the QB position?

I just traded the ps2 in for an xbox 360 and got madden tonight. I just went through my first draft and drafted a DE specifically to switch to OLB. It won't let me. I have enough on the roster and all that. As a matter of fact, I don't see any players that will let me switch positions. Is this not an option on 360? I have to say so far, I like the PS2 franchise mode better =(

I upgraded from xbox to 360 a little over a month ago. So far I have mostly still just been playing on xbox because other than the graphics the 360 has been less than impressive. The menus are difficult to read and very drab. Other than sharp graphics everything seems to be kind of excavated. Also, I really only play in franchise and I have read several times that franchises can only last about 3-5 seasons because all dropped players disappear and consequently that results in not enough players to play, or the game crashes or something like that. There is also no drive summary, one of my favorite features, and many other features seem to be missing. It has been hard for me to even give the 360 a try after my first initial experiences with it and what I have read, so I am strongly considering selling it and sticking with original xbox.
