    Max Protection Schemes

I wouldn't mind see EA add a feature, that would allow you to audible to a Max Protection scheme, this would be especially helpful against HFA. They could also have a Max Protection play in each offensive set. Just my $.02

This is yet another issue that a comprehensive play editor would solve. Allow us to create our own plays with our own protection schemes.

Jeremy, do you agree that making your own plays for online play could lead to a disaster.

Hi Reno!.. .I throw in my 2 cents with Jeremy... making your own plays for online play could be a disaster...

That's not the the play editors fault.. that's the weak ai of this game and the overall factor that if people are going to be "CHEESY" their going to be "CHEESY" with or without a play editor. Okay worse case scenario some meat head runs direct snaps to their wr with an unbalanced line... think of a defense for it and put it in a defensive play editor (because we might as well have a great play editor.. any legal play etc etc for Offense and DEFENSE)

I mean they could RADICALLY change the way people play football games and use these forums.

However if somebody is "cheesing" with a GREAT formation or a GREAT defense.. I sure as heck respect that guy X90 vs the acne popping button pusher who wants to glitch his way to the top 100 which from what I read you all currently have the most problems with...

I mean who knows maybe the EA people can count "# of times user used created plays"... obviously if some genius runs Play X 75 times a game I might want to say.. .gee do I want to play that guy?

My fear is that EA will use the ONLINE BS as an EXCUSE not to put in a play editor... "well gee no sorry we couldn't do a play editor because we couldn't make it work for on line... but we did save a bunch of money on our programming because basically once again we've handed you DA's a Madden Hand-Me-Down again .. sans play editor OF COURSE... did we tell you we've added Mascot teams even for those teams that never had them! plus you can have the NON-PC old-time mascots from Standford, Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio!"

Its no excuse.. there's plenty of us that aren't online and we at the very least deserve a play editor, I mean we will have sat through a whole generation of console's worth of games and never see a play editor... just imagine if all we had to play was Tecmo Bowl (and tecmo was a decent game).. and they tweaked the rosters, change the teams a little, and made it online playable.. I wouldn't call that improvement?

I'm not directing this at the question mind you (or the questioner )I'm directing this at EA... nows the time when things are going to get done regarding the programing for this game, there will be some tweaking next spring but its going to be too late in the rollout to undergo a major improvement like RESTORING and IMPROVING the play editor.

I don't want some egg head that has no clue about football going into a staff meeting and saying:

EA PROGRAMER(in the most nasal tone voice I can imagine):: "aw gee guys I don't know if we can do the play editor this year.. I mean its just not going to work for online play"

EA BIG WIG:: "that's a good point Marcy, can the play editor this year guys, it just can't be done"

::"dream the impossible dream" plays over the musak::

    fade shot....
I could STILL RULE THE WORLD if I had a play editor
