    Free Agent Team

has anyone ever created a team of all free agents and used them in madden? i'm attempting to do this, but i don't like how you have to replace a team, bc you lose all their players. i might just create a few studs off the team i delete and make them FA's. this should be a fun franchise, but everyone is signed to 2 or 3 year deals, so no one will become FA's first year. i'm gonna build through the draft to get this team better.
    here's my team:

    QB- Q Carter 78, R Davey 78, A Hall 63
    RB- J Chatman 79, T Candidate 76, D Brown 68
    FB- H Evans 81
    WR- K Cambell 81, F Mitchell 78, F Gibson 72, J Carter 76, S Anderson 65
    TE- M Ricks 78, B Steele 70, A Walker 69
    OT- F Middleton 85, R Young 82, T Peko 78, K Jones 76
    OG- S Sciullio 81, M Bibla 76, T Walter 70, J Jones 70
    C- C Terry 90, L Turner 67
    DE- A Dingle 79, A Gbaja-Biamila 77, C Nworkorie 75, E Flowers 72
    DT- C Woodard 84, M Fatafehi 80, R Moore 78
    OLB- R Thompson 85, J Sykes 79, C Grant 76, B Knight 70
    MLB- A Simmons 89, K Lewis 76
    CB- L Walls 86, A Hawkins 78, P Hunter 75, C Cash 72, K Garrett 72
    FS- A Edwards 85, T Robinson 66
    SS- A Freeman 79, C Bird 71
    K- B Cundiff 80
    P- R Williams
    KR- K Cambell
    PR- K Cambell

I never really created a team so this will certainly be a new experience, i'll keep you updated on how this goes once i start the franchise.

How are you going to get that team toghether?
Sounds like a pretty crappy team.

You can also sight all those players and release the replaced starters/backups.
Then sim the season and start from there.

i created them and then started a franchise with them. it's kinda weird though, because the players have clones, bc they are still free agents lol.
if i signed them all from the start and cut all my players i'd have cap penalties coming out the wazoo, no way i'd do that.
i decided to replace the texans and i created 5 of the texans best players and put them as free agents.

    David Carr- Lions
    Domanick Davis- Saints
Andre Johnson- Jags, damn they are stacked but smith will retire
Travis Johnson- Titans, they always sign DE's
    Dunta Robinson- Cardinals

i'm curious to see if they make any pro bowls. i used that idea that chad pennington said about creating guys to help out CPU teams. i'm hoping this is going to be fun.

i dont mean to be discouraging or anything, but you're gonna get cornholed more then the outwardly gay prison ***** in Folsom State Penitentiary.

Cundiff isn't a free agent, he's on the Cowboys, or rather back on the Cowboys.

Instead of going through all the trouble of creating clones, can't you just go in the rosters and sign those free agents to the team you want to use while releasing the regular roster players? It might screw up your rosters though, but I guess you could save it as a seperate roster.

I think it's an intersting idea. I also think, instead of being able to create a new team with fictional players to use in a franchise, they should have like an expansion draft. When you create a new team you should be able to pick off unprotected players on existsing teams and sign free agents to make up your roster. Come to think of it, I guess I could do that myself...but I'd still have all the left over players from the created team floating around the league.

there are some studs on my team, believe it or not. i really like Fred Gibson at WR. he has great height and jumping ability, i hope to greatly improve him and turn him into a great player. both of my RB's are studs, candidate is effective bc of his speed, and chatman has 90 speed combined with 86 BTK. i don't think my team's gonna struggle that bad, bc i am going to play the games. i will be able to get a lot out of my players, and it helps to have a scrambling QB to use. My CB's are pretty bad other than Lenny Walls, that's basically my main weakness, along with the DE's.
and yes, chatman, heath evans, and cundiff aren't free agents in real life, but they were the best in the madden market so i signed them anyways.

Nope, I just started playing 06 Fanchise 3 weeks ago, but I played 05 Franchise for about 9 months.

Most of my team is made up of Free Agents, mainly undrafted rookies.

I will only draft the following positions:
    FB
    OLineman
TE (will probably stop drafting them in 06)
    DT
    K
    P

All the rest of the positions I do not draft because I cannot see their Attributes.

    QB
    WR
    HB
    Linebackers
    Corners
    Safety

I have to see their stats so I do not draft them but either let other teams draft a player and do a trade or go straight to FA, which is my playground for Wideouts, LBs and Corners.

Pat, this is one of the most refreshing chise ideas I have seen in a long time.

Please keep us updated. I am tired of the youth fantasy drafts that lead to 95 OVR team in 4 years.

Pat I ran this idea back in 05 and was able to edit the rosters before starting the franchise which meant i could keep all the players from the replaced team.
Not sure you can do it this year but will also be trying once I'm bored with my cup cake chise

I run a Steelers chise, and I dumped Deshea Townsend for Lenny Walls and Rashean Mathis from the Jags. 11 picks EACH first year.
