Offensive Outlook

Quarterbacks




Brett Favre will always be the starter for this team at least in till he retires. He may be aging but no one on this team can match his skills to lead a team. Favre is the only three time MVP (95-97), and currently stands three in most career wins (135). He only stand behind John Elway, and Dan Marino. Favre will look to move a top this list all alone. In his attempt to take the Packers to the Super Bowl. Aaron Rogers who will be playing back up role to Brett Favre, will get a lot of playing time in the Pre-Season. He will also clean up any blow outs that look to occur during the season.

Runningbacks



Ahman Green ill take the load of the carries, which is no different then the past few seasons. He is second among Packers players in rushing yards. he only sits 1,360 yards shy of Jim Taylor's Record. He also currently owns the most yards in a season (1,883), and most yards in a game (218) for the Packers. William Henderson has 11 years experience, and knows what he is doing. In 2004 he was the first Packer Player 1969 to be named First Team All Pro, and be a Pro Bowl Starter.

Wide Receivers



Javon Walker will most likely open as the #1 Receiver for this team. He led the team last year in Receptions, yards, and touchdowns (89, 1,382, and 12). Which lead to his first ever pro bowl. Donald Driver was second respectively in each one of these categories (84, 1,208, and 9). In 2002 he was named the most valuable player for the Packers. These together are argubly the best receiving duo in Green Bay ever.

Offensive Outlook Cont.

Tight Ends



Bubba Franks has never missed a game (80, 86 including playoffs). He is the third Tight End in Packer History to be named to three Pro Bowls (Paul Coffman, 1982-84, and Mark Chmura, 1997-98). Bubba will continue to be a huge asset for this team. David Martin, and Ben Steele look to fight it out for second string but none look to make a big impact on the team this season

Offensive Line



The offensive line will be held together by Center Mike Flanagan. Flanagan has been plagued with injuries through out his career but he worked through them and at one point played 87 games straight including playoffs. Before a season new operation in 2004. Fresh back from that he looks to keep Brett Favre safe, and open up holes for Ahmen Green. Flanagan will be helped out by Chad Clifton, Adrian Klemm, Matt O'Dwyer, and Mark Tauscher. If they can stay healthy this line will do great, if not look for things to go sour.

Defensive Outlook

Linebackers




The Linebacking Core is lead by Nick Barnett, Barnetts 162 Tackles last season was the most in the past 21 years, and fouth most since 1975. If he leads the team in tackles this season. He will be the first person since 75 to lead the team three years in a row in tackles. Na'il Diggs will also look to be succesful this year, which goes right along with what his first name means in arabic (Succesful one).

Cornerbacks



Al Harris is a definition of an iron man player as he hasn't missed a game since 1998 (122 Games, including playoffs). Last season he also eclipsed the most passes defensed record with 28 passing up Doug Evans. He also played 99.1% of his snaps last season. Ahmad Carroll is a very gifted athlete, he set the Georgia State Record in High School in the 100 running (10.41). If he can stay away from the penelties he could have a great season.

Defensive Line



Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila will look to lead this line and get good preassure on the quarterbacks. Gabaja-Biamila is the first Packer Player to post Double Dight Sacks in the last three seasons. Although he has only been in the league for three years now. He stands third in all time sacks for the Packers with(50 1/2). He will be joined by Aaron Kampman, Cletious Hunt, and Grady Jackson.

Safetys



Mark Roman has always been a decent Safety but he must step up his play this year. The Packer defense always suffers, and he is now playing along side a rookie. Nick Collins is a rookie this year and we really don't know what to expect out of him. Hopefully he will help more then hinder are already hurting defense.

Special Teams

Kickers



Ryan Longwell is one of the best kickers the league has seen. He already leads the team in points, and stands as the fourth most accuarte field goal specilst hitting 82.4% of them.B.J. Sander had a great year in the European league last year leading the league in net yards, most punts inside the 20 and least touchbacks.

Poet, just to let you know. It's spelled Javon, not Jevon. Anyways, it looks good with the in-depth analysis. I have had a very difficult time finding a replacement for Favre. He retired after the first season, and it took almost eight seasons to find the replacement.

realhawker, Najeh Davenport, I'm going to try to get Najeh Davenport at least 5-10 carries a game. Probably more, I'm very run hevay when I play. But with Madden Choosing sometimes he wants to throw all the time.

For Favre and his replacement, I'd like Rogers to replace him. But I don't like using training camp on any other players other then rookies. I'm not quite sure yet though.

Oh, and I'm playing on playstation 2.

Packers Fumbles Lead To Close Defeat 34-31


Green Throws a Stiff Arm

“I’ve never seen one team fumble so many Punts, It wasn’t like they were getting hit as they caught the ball. Chatman and Johnson both had run for at least 8-10 yards before they got hit and lost the ball.”

That was the story of the game today; Antonio Chatman fumbled two punts inside the 20 which lead to two Lions touchdowns. Chris Johnson fumbled late in the fourth as well, but was able to get on type of his own fumble and cover it up. "Chatman will most likely not be our Punt Returner at least for a couple of games. After that showing I don't even know if he truly wants to play or not" exclaimed Coach Boston after the game.

Kevin Jones, and Ahman Green dueled it out today on the ground both running the ball 26 times. Jones going for 124 yards, and Green tacking up 119 yards. Green was able to get into the endzone, while Jones fumbled early in the second quarter. Najah Davenport didn't see the ball only running 5 times
only managing to gain 1 yard. This came on an early fourth quarter touchdown.

Brett Favre showed moments of greatness in this game, but he also showed an impatience during periods of this games, Including trying to force a pass to Donald Driver that Dre' Bly picked up and ran back 55 yards for the touchdown.

The team needs to get everything together if they want to make a run for the playoffs, and losing to the Lions is not a good sign for early in the season.

Packers Nab First Win of Season 33-28


Al Harris pulls in first Interception of year, Ahman Green Dives into the endzone after a 73 yard catch and run.

Bret Favre had a much better day today, throwing 3 touchdowns. He still released a couple of interceptions in this game as well. Ahman Green ran for over a 100 yards, and a touchdown, and only caught a 73 yard touchdown pass last in the second quarter. Najah Davenport ran much better this game pounding for just under 50 yards on 11 attempts.

The defense still had its struggles during this game but the offense didn't always help them out by putting them on the field with such horrid position. The last touchdown they scored was on a botch toss that went behind Green, which the Browns ran back for the touchdown.

"I'm happier with the way the team played this week, but their were still way too many errors out there today. Misread coverage’s on offense happened way to many times, and blown coverage on defense killed us during this game.”

Packers Defense Steps Up in Second Half, 24-21


Najeh Davenport running in for the game winning touchdown, Robert Ferguson pulls in a touchdown

Ahman Green may be upset after this game, he ran for what looked like a good game. The number that caused him to be pulled from the game was two fumbles. Yes, two, one fumble he was laid out pretty good. The second he was going through the line and the ball pops out of his hands even though he wasn’t touched. Green was promptly pulled in favor of Najeh Davenport.

The defense stepped up from their poor showing in the first half. Brian Griese at one point was 6-7 and two touchdowns. He ended the game 14-28, 2 touchdowns, and two interceptions. “I knew this defense hadn’t been playing up to the potential that they possess, it was nice to see them finally pull everything together in the second half of this game helping us go 2-1, instead of 1-2.

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, and Aaron Kampman were possessed today get to the quarterback at will. Combined today they had five sacks, of the teams six sacks (Nick Barnett). They directly contributed to the bad second half for Brian Griese.

Brett Favre continues to have a shaky start to this season, he only completed 48.1% of his passes (13-27), and threw another interception to go along with the his lone touchdown to Robert Ferguson. He Touchdown to Interception ratio is 1:1.
