Things that need to be fixed on the current Madden '06 on the 360.
I wish they would have delayed it till January to get the WHOLE game complete;
I find the gameplay very fun and the graphics, animations are of course excellent...BUT:
The Franchise mode is horrible and that's my bread and butter, that's why I buy the game, to play as one team for years, draft, develop, etc. The draft classes are AWFUL (1st round RB's with 76 SPD, WR's with 80 SPD in the 1st, QB's with 80 THP in the 1st.... ) and it RUINS the experience.
I could handle the lack of moving teams, changing stadiums, etc if it wasn't for the draft classes blowing which of course is the key to a franchise. The draft classes on the PS2/Xbox '06 were EXCELLENT and realistic, that's what is so frustrating for me. Hopefully this will be addressed in 2007...it HAS to be.
The season stats on 360 are horrible too...Vick leads the NFL in rushing every year, McNabb is in the top 10, no more than 3-4 backs reach 1,000. WR's RARELY reach 1,000 yards and starting QB's will sometimes throw as little as 7 TD's in a season, this was not unusual to find. Very few players EVER progress thanks to the HORRIBLE sim engine.
By season 8 most of the league was populated by players ranked 75 OVR or less and anu CB/RB/WR with SPD over 85 was a burner!
I am SURE Madden 2007 (and NCAA 2007) will be sweet! I will buy both. EA will add a complete suite of features, I have no doubt (well, I am scared that they won't get the draft classes fixed...). But for franchisers, this version blows.
I got the PC version to tide me over till NCAA comes out in July...gonna trade Madden '06 in and put it towards Ghost Recon and Blazing Angels.
Thank goodness NBA 2K6 is around, I have 1 complete sports game on my 360.
