    Simulating Pre-season and other games

For those of you that Sim the preseason or other games, what sort of coaching Strategy do you use. For example:

    Offense
    45 Run and 65 Pass
    45 Conservative and 55 Aggressive

    Defense
    45 run and 55 Pass
    40 Conservative and 60 Aggressive

What has given you the best progression results.

    Thanks

Depends on the personel you have.. if you have a low AWR QB, definitely don't go 79% pass and aggressive.. probably more inclined to the run, and conservative. Since I always have a strong running team, I set a high % to run, and a high % to conservative. Plus, it uses up more time of possession, which helps your defense. I generally keep defense at 50/50, and usually completely conservative since lots of younger, low AWR players play in the preseason.

It really depends on the team you have. If you have a great HB, push to run at least 55%. He will pile up the yards and it puts less pressure on your QB. I wouldn't recommend above 55% pass unless you have a great QB and at least 1 90+ WR. My QB's always throw so many interceptions.

On defense, I normally only have aggressiveness above 55 if I"m running a 3-4. Otherwise I put it around 50.

The one thing to understand is that the game doesn't like to let QB's progress. Especially rookies and young players drop like rocks even if they have a decent year. I had a rookie QB have 75+ passer rating, 2,500+ yards, 16 TD and 14 INT and drop 3 points overall. So unless you have an elite QB, don't pass as much. Your line will love it too.

Yeah it depends on your personel, I usually have mine on 40 run, 60 pass, 50/50 conservative/aggressive for offense and 45 run/55 pass, 45/55 aggressive, but I change it every week after looking at the players my opponent has, if they run a lot I will defend against the run more and if they have a bad secondary i will pass more, unless I have a young QB, then I run more.
