Don't use Cover2 Zones that much, your asking to get beat deep. Their more situational D's, I only mix them in occasionally or on 3rd in Short. Even then I blitz LBs to try to apply some heat. You just have to bring the heat if you go Zone because the D-line doesn't apply enough on it's own. And out of Cover3's I usually always rush atleast 5, your safer with Cover3's if you bring the heat.

If you're gonna use Cover 2, 3, and 4 - you gotta get pressure.
Couple the line crash with hot read blitzers - or bring a manual blitzer.

I use the Baltimore playbook so I don't have all of the 4-3 plays. If you use a team with a good front four you can get away with not blitzing every down. You need to be able to swat the ball away from the defender. If you blitz someone is open, mix it up, zone blitz and see where he throws to. If he likes the flats leave coverage on the wide side of the field, take away his first option and make him look around. Zones are made to make the qb make decisions and get coverage sacks. But a good mix will keep him guessing and out of the endzone.

I always manually move my corners back when playing zone defense because on playaction or really on deep fly routes they will get beat one on one with a speedy reciever. Also based on the tendensies of the opponents I will blitz a linebacker from a zone that I don't think my opponent will be attacking. Also pass commint helps.

    try these 4-3 d's

Damn dawg if you run a 4-3 d you should already know you got like 16 different zone blitzes in your d book.Pay attention to where your guy is throwing the ball and use each one of them according to where he is going.here are the ones I like from the 4-3;zone blitz, olb fire 3,mid gut rush this one i man up the te with the lolb, tango 3 swap, strom blitz is a good 1for counter plays as well as pass but manually control the ss on this just in case its a pass, cover 1 robber, hog buck 3 filp it and crash the line out and shift the lb's right,4 deep qtrs is a good pass d but put your de on wide side of field in a flat zone and manually control the other to the other side just in case. You should have a good idea now with these ones I gave you here just work on the rest of them in the lab and figure out what adjustments you need to make to them with who you run with and it will start to come to you on what others have told you so far.Hope this helps you out player and good luck with them.

    Enhancing the the cover 3

If you use the cover three here is some good tips. 1st always click onto CB2 and hit the analog stick up twice. This makes him play inside. 2nd, make the FS play over top of him hit coverage audible analog stick left. Control the SS that is in a hook zone, and watch right thirds(1/3 of field) help deep if neccesary or you can make him cover deep right (coverage aud right) and you can sit middle with MLB. I would suggest blitzing strong side of the field. that way if he is releasing strong side players you have a rush. And if he keeps them into block, then you dont have a threat.
