A suggestions for next years game.. Neutral fields for online play--Rant

Hi, everyone.. I'm a long time daily reader. Just never really got into the discussions. Love reading this site at home and from work..

I have played a couple of the members on here and had discussions with them. I remember rhombic from the dreamcast NFL2k1 days. If its the same rhombic he was filming games back then as well..


Well here is my little rant.




When I go online to play. No one wants to play on the road. I always use the Play Now or Random game feature. However, no one wants to play on the road. I will hit search for opponent and if I land as home team the guy 9 times out of 10 will not play.. I hit it again. This time the guy lands as the home team and is already to go. I have played 150 games online.. At least 110 or so has been on the road. Thats the only way I can seem to get a game is to play as the visiting team. This is ok sometimes. However, the HFA for top teams is so overly done that you can't possibly hot route guy that audibles down from a dime defense to a 4-4 all out blitz.. I have to be careful about my play selection when I'm on the road. Because if I get a defensive look that I don't like theres not much I can do except run the play.

It wouldn't be so aggervating if I got my fair share of home games then the playing field would be equaled out.

I think it would be nice if EA would incorporate an option that allows you to challenge a ranked game on a neutral field. This would balance the playing field for both players. Like I said this wouldn't be an issue if people in the online world would play road games every now and then.


That was my little rant. Look forward to talking with some of you guys and maybe even playing a few games with some of you.

You are definitely right about this. When I played online I faced the same thing. It's one of the many things that ruined online gaming for me. The only other way I'd play online is if it were in a league setting like these guys have here.

I'll be on the road every time. Most people I play always ask me to be home. I really don't care either way ... I'll be home or away. It works out the same either way. I don't buy the home field advantage theory. Sometimes I actually play better and gain more momentum on the road.

I'm with Avenge on this one, I'd personally rather play on the road. I do see what torqque29 is saying though. From a league perspective, I think it'd be cool so that we could have championship games and what not from nuetral sites. Plus, it'd be cool to have games like the Georgia-Florida game played at a nuetral site (like back on 05).

I play with FSU and if I play Miami or Florida, I shouldn't have to deal with Home Field as much. I think the crowd should be more of a mixed composition. It should be more balanced than it is. That's just my opinion...
