Did any of you already play in the NCAA 07 tourney this year? They are coming to my school this week and I'm going to be playing in it. I was just curious if anyone else has already played and how it went.

I'm playing in the ASU one on Nov. 9th. I plan on making an early exit...
Yeah, it is pretty cheesy. I go to Clemson. The tourney here is on the 1st. I played in it last year, but I didn't do too well. I lost my first game after winning until the last play before half-time on a on INT returned for a TD. I was trying to bomb it to get a cheap TD right before the half and I don't really remember exactly what happened, except that he ended up intercepting it and scoring. After that I tried to get back into the game too quickly, because of the 2 minute quarters, but it didn't work out. I think I just ended up throwing a couple more picks because I hadn't played it on x-box before then.
I played on x-box right when it came out over the summer at my friend's house, but then I got the game for myself for my PS2. I've been playing on that, so once again I'm not really ready. I think I'm going to try to find someone with it on x-box and practice a couple of games. I don't know who I should use for the tourney, but I think I want to go ball control and run it and make short passes to the flats and other relatively safe passes to chew up clock and gain momentum. Then I might mix in some play action and hope the safety bites or at least keep whoever I play honest. I don't really want to get into a bombing match with someone who is used to the controls.
Anyway, I just thought I would ask another couple of questions. What teams do you think I should look at using for the style of play I want to use? What are some playbooks that would suit the running game and short passes with some play action thrown in? I like to run either from the I, but I also like the versatility to run some read plays from out of the shotgun. Also, what type of defense do you guys use? I usually run the 4-3, but I also have been messing around with the 3-3-5 as well. I'm thinking that might be better for this tourney, as people might start chucking it deep and scrambling, and it would suit me to have 5 DBs on the field. Any advice as far as that goes?
If you don't play online you don't have a chance anyway. Online players are the best there are.
Okay...anyone with actual advice? The tourney is today and I just wanted to know if anyone had any last minute advice.
Another question about the controls. Can anyone here who uses x-box explain to me the way to do audibles on the play call menu? I know you can assign an audible on the play call screen on PS2 (one for the x button, one for the square and one for the circle).
Also, are there any other quirky controller differences between the PS2 and x-box? I know you can use R1 and L1 on PS2 to do a quick and shorter juke without using the right analog stick, but I don't think you can do that on x-box, right? Also, I know that the pitch button is on the bottom right of the pad instead of it being R2.
Anyway, any help you can give would be great. I'll post on here how it went sometime after. I'm just really looking to win at least one game. I wouldn't feel too badly then. I especially won't feel bad, because I found out that EA sports is sponsoring a PS2 tourney here soon.
A kinda darkhorse team to use is Tennessee.Power running back that hardly ever fumbles.Very tall recievers and good te's.Ther defense is very good especially the secondary. The dline is one of the strongest on the game
On '06 for audibles on the fly when you're calling plays, go to the play you want change one of your audibles to. Click and hold the left and right trigger buttons, then hit x, y, or b to assign that audible. Note: it might have changed with '07.Originally Posted by fanofsteel86
On '06 to juke you had to move the right joystick left or right. To cover up you push it forward. To do a back juke you push it back. Holding the right trigger button will do a straight arm. Holding the left trigger button will trigger a mid-play celebration in combination with one of the buttons. Remember, these were the controls on '06 and they might have changed on '07. Black button is pitch and white button is throw the ball away. Good luck.Originally Posted by fanofsteel86
