    PS3s EVERYWHERE

I was out and about today....

And everywhere I went, they had plenty of PS3s in stock. Sitting out, waiting to be bought.

I can't say I remember the same phenomenon when the 360 came out. Seems that everytime THEY hit the shelves, they were snatched up. Took 12 months before you'd see on on a shelf on a regular basis.

Yeah. I see them. But to be honest the reason why they are there I think is that the machine has to compete with the Wii. More people seem to be buying the Wii primarily because of price and the Nintendo franchises and the new controller seems interesting.

I think the lack of must have games is the problem. Price might be a factor as I know several people saving up for one.

I think most of the people that are gonna buy a next-gen unit have bought them by now.

I don't see PS3 hitting the 10 million sold mark by this time next year like the 360 just did.

With the game's being the same and little demand for HD-DVD OR Blu-Ray movies it looks like Sony made a big mistake in delaying so long with nothing in the game performance department to justify people's wait or expense.

Well, just like VHS vs Beta, the porn industry has chosen non-Sony. Just saw an article saying they've picked HD over Blu-ray which is a bad sign for Blu-ray's future.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this year.

The PS3 launch actually sold more units than did the XBox 360 launch. Part of the reason why there weren't any 360's on the shelves might have been because of the defects the 360 had at launch and all of the exchanges.

It'll be surprising if either format HD-DVD or BluRay has much of an affect on the market. I don't remember the numbers but the amount of people with HD TV's is extremely low. There just isn't much of a market.

This fall will tell a lot of what happens. There will be a lot more next gen titles out.

I'm one of those people without HDTV, so I bought a gaming system strictly for the gaming.

When I found out that PS3 was going to be 700 bucks and virtually no good games at release, it made my decision real easy.

I think very few people want to use their gaming system as an all-in-one deal.

I concur. However I still like both systems. I can see the PS3 in about 2 years jumping off. I agree though, and the issue with the PS3 is they are trying to force you to upgrade your TV!!!!!!!

Thank God I got my 1080P TV for $500. What a bargain for me (Eddy Murphy haters ).

I got it and it looks swell with the xbox 360!!!!!! The size of the TV is 37" but still looks good for $500!!!!!!!!

Actually it was because there were more PS3's available at launch, the much bally=hooed "PS3 hit 1 million sold before the 360" news was a little faulty, since the 360 didn't have 1 million units available till much later. We'll see how long it takes PS3 to hit 10 million.

My boy's friend!!!!! He had a Westinghouse 37" HDTV and upgraded and he just wanted to get ride of it. It does not have HDMI, but I have nothing in my house that does have it except maybe my DTV HD box. I got it for a steal of a price I know. It does have DVI though which is just as good and it has optical inputs. I know I have got a great deal. Now I have 2 HDTV's and a 3rd will be coming in the near future.

    yep....

You drop a high system, with no smash games to go with it = failure.
I can easily afford a ps3, but that shyt is gettin Monster blitzed by the Wii. Im still playing Zelda to this day. And I love it.....for only $250.00.

The Sony marketing was horrible. They should not have rushed that shyt so fast. On top of that, they will come out with a slim one in about a year, just like the ps2. You cant even play the ps3 in the store, cause it overheats so dayum much. Nobody is gonna pay money for bullshyt. Point blank period.

They said the exact same thing about the PS2 when it came out. Over 100 million sold.

I'm still trying to figure out the Wii. There's nothing wrong with it at all. But they put out a box that has slightly inferior specs than the original XBox, stick a new controller on it that senses motion, and all of a sudden it's "revolutionary." All Microsoft or Sony has to do is come out with a similar controller and a handful of games to use the controller.

Oh, and Sony's controller also senses motion. Hmmm.

Ummm....It was about 4-5 years after the PS2 came out until the slim one was released.

    How was the PS3 rushed?

Find one story of someone's personal PS3 overheating. Those aren't real PS3's in the stores (from what I understand). The thing you see behind the glass is just a dummy unit. There is a beta PS3 in the display behind it.

Apparently over a million people in the US have paid for that bullshyt. Slightly more than nobody.
