    Preventing Onside Kicks

Before picking your return, wait until your opponent has picked his personel. It's that freakin simple. You have to know who is going out on the field (A LA "THE HANDS TEAM."). The person who is kicking must pick first no matter what. If the screen reads "3WR's", then you best send out the hands team!

In reguards to those who do that cheesey twenty yard kick that's almost out of bounds....Come out in the onside kick formation and play as the guy who is on the opposite side of the hands team towards the end zone. Once the ball is kicked, rush to the spot where he is kicking it. Press the "fair catch button," and you should get the ball back by catching it, or you should get the ball back from fair catch interference. If your opponent kicks the ball to the strong side where your hands team is, well obviously you are already in position to get the ball.

I know that it is unrealistic and kind of whack to have to come out in onside because your worried about that onside glitch, but it is better to be safe than sorry;especially when the game is on the line.

Sometimes when I kick the ball off, I notice that people like to be the tight ends and kind of run to a certain side of the field for better return position and blocks. When I notice this, I will kick the ball kind of high and to the point where they would be had they not cheated over. Anyways, once in a great blue moon, I will get lucky and maybe recover the kick. Its a great surprise attack!
