I was trying to find things to stop this as well a while ago, and I stumbled upon this article and it helped, check it out, it uses the 46-normal Cover 2:

    shehzaan14,

What do you mean by freezing the defense? How is it performed?
Defense win games and offense sells tickets.

Here's what I do for pretty much every goal line play on defense:

Pinch line - L1 and down
Crash line in - L1 and down on R stick
    Pinch LB's - R1 and down (actually I don't think this helps)
    Blitz LB's - R1 and down on R stick

After this, I take the two guys not on the line, the MLB and SS, and put them up close, then keep pressing down on the R stick so I commit down right away. The QB Sneak pretty much never works against that.

It sounds like a lot, but it takes like three seconds once you get some sort of muscle memory.

    1) What formation and Defense do you run this out of?

    2) Is this effective against the run outside and the pass?

There's nothing that is going to consistently stop the goalline QB sneak, but remember that the guy is taking the risk of getting his QB hurt or getting a fumble. As soon as he gets across the line, I am laying on the strip or going for the switch and hit stick.

But I think the best way to stop him from getting across the line in the first place is to manually control one of the DT's and try to push the blocker back into the QB or slide into the gap and make the tackle. Use the jumbo package in goalline to get the big boys in there. You want to clog that middle so there is no room for him to get through, if the line is getting pushed back on him he'll get turned around and then he's done.

Ya, I do this too. And if hes like on the 1 yard line, I just tap the commit button down repeatedly. You got nothing to lose, if he PAs you have a chance to sack him, or he will just get in on the 1. No big deal, same as what would have happened with QB sneak.
