How do you stop looping DE's?

How do you stop Defensive Ends who are placed very far away from the Offensive line on opposite sides of the field (left and right).

When I would run the ball against them I would get some gains but get stuffed more often than not because the was stacking his linebackers in the middle and blowing up my running back.

He would come out in Quarters Cover-2 I believe when he did this. Just stack the line and fan his Defensive Ends out as far as he can. Manually control one of them and run around my Offensive Tackle and sack me when I stepped into the pocket on passing plays. If I would bring up an additional blocker to block one of the Defensive Ends he would just switch over to the other one and do the same thing.

Playing his linebackers bunched up in the middle the way he did, I tried to go to the flats but since he was in the Cover-2, given how quickly I'd have to release the ball due to the Defensive End pressure, my running back wouldn't have enough time to beat the first layer of the zone and break away so what would end up happening is is that my Running back would have the ball thrown to him right in front of the Cornerback and get minimal gains or drop the catch due to the hit.

Could anyone help me figure this one out? I was playing against the Giants and he would put Umeniyora at Left End, Lavar Arrington at Right End, and Michael Strahan at Defensive Tackle.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    K 2 things:

    1. Step up in the pocket. Making you drop back farther than usual is exactly what he wants you to do. You could also run up the middle with the QB. Drop back, wait for his LBs to drop back, and run with the QB.

    2. Deep lob. If hes running a Cover 2, it should be easy to go deep. Run a fade route, lob it up, manual catch.

Definitely try to attack deep down the sidelines if it's Cover2 (zone) or deep up the middle on posts. I mean he was stacking the line, those safeties should be late to recover vs. deep fades. Just take the chance, that's how you make big plays. Little dumpoffs ain't going to get you no where.

You could also try extra protection, a TE and or back blocking towards his side. Since it was Quarters I would also try spreading it out with Singleback and running it. Try fast developing run plays like Slams/Plunges. You could also try some bigger sets to take advantage of strength mis-matches, such as your TEs blocking out smaller DBs in the running game.

As far as manuevering in the pocket to avoid the DE rush loop, best thing IMO is to step around the Tackle from the inside. So dropback then rollout towards the Tackle and step inside of the tackle. Don't step into the middle of the pocket because he'll still get you with the loop if you ain't got no extra protection, you gotta roll out and step-in around the tackle.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate them. Not trying to sound dumb or like a real laimon, but what exactly are "fade" routes? Are they just like Wr Streaks?

Its when he heads towards the sideline for a lil while, then goes downfield like a streak. You can playmaker them by making the WR you want to put on a fade the primary WR, then tapping up on the right analog stick.

i would try running playaction, but sometimes that might not work...looping de's shouldnt hurt u if ur staying in the pocket....work on ur drop back in practice mode against looping de's
