    Playbooks

What playbook is everyone using? I've tried Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, FSU...which are pretty much all the same. Tried Florida's PB and its not that bad...but to much SG.

I've tied several but so far I'm liking Auburn's. It is very balanced and it has HB Slam out of I-Form, my favorite running play so far.

I like the Army book. I've been messing around with Buffalo, Boise State and Western Michigan. All three are really balanced, and they have some nice 2 back formations.

I've tried using Floridas, Hawaii's, Balanced Run, Miami, and North Carolinas.....Still trying to find one with 4-5 good passing shotgun formations with ace big and some solid I form....Doubt ill be able to find one with that and a flexbone or wishbone form in it as well...

I've been having a ***** of a time trying to find one, probably because of the style I play (I like to run an under-center, non-Flexbone option scheme). I started out using aTm's but I'm not really sold on it. I'm probably going to try some of the spread books with a little Pistol. I used the Bowling Green PB last night in an offline H2H game against my friend and liked it alright, but he was admittedly rusty (and used to Gamecube controls). I'll probably hit the lab here in a bit and give Purdue's and SMU's PBs a look.

Navy and Option Run are going to be your only options (no pun intended). Even then, there are only two Wishbone formations left in the game, so it's more of a complement to the Flexbone as opposed to an offense in and of itself.

Look at teh ones i suggested... Ive been running a similiar offense out of the Iform 3 WR. I also mix in strong I and strong I 3WR. I run the triple option and fb dives (they are beasts). Ilike the 3 WRs because you can put the TE in the slot... audible down to strong I normal and be ok... just a million options.

Sounds like we run similar stuff...try out Army, a lot of good short passes and options.

Anyone find hail mary on PS2 yet?

    Dave & Kai,
Thanks for the heads up on the Army PB. I will check it out. I pretty much discounted it right off the bat since they run a pro-style WCO in real life, so I figured it'd be pretty slim on options.

I did look at Buffalo's, since Turner Gill is their coach and I thought he might run some type of I-form option offense, but I wasn't really impressed with it. I guess there's a reason they're an NCAA doormat.

I actually just got done labbing SMU's PB for about an hour and I think I'm gonna give it a go first. It seems pretty good. A little SG heavy, but I really like the SG forms it does have (Ace, Trio, and 5WR Flex Trio especially).

BTW, Kaidog, there is a "Hail Mary" play in some versions of SG Spread (and I would presume some other formations as well). It does kinda suck that they eliminated that "formation," even if you only used it maybe 3 times every 10 games. I guess the only recourse is to HR all your guys to streaks (assuming you're at home).
