Who else would like a play editor more then anything?

I wish that NCAA would give us a play editor that would let us create any legal formation, play or motion.

This would be nice. I'd have to say, it would allow me to make a single wing playbook, a viable T formation playbook, and a lot of other things I've always wanted to see. The problem would revolve around the defense, because people would have a harder time stopping that which they don't see so often, they'd do an awful lot of complaining. Even worse, there would be some people who would choose to load down their playbook with "money plays". Basically if those two problems are addressed (which I think they will be), I'm all for it.

Is it going to be 10 years before we get a play editor back in... I just refuse to buy any EA game if that is the case.

I would love to have the play editor back. One were you can create your own motion as well. That way I can make the wingbacks in the Flexbone motion accross the formation to create trips, as well as into the backfield for a true triple option/run and shoot offense.

yessss playbook editor would be great-i do find myself playing different defenses imagining plays that would work best

to EA's credit the playbooks did improve in NCAA they hired people who knew what the spacing and levels concepts were for example. But all that did was wet my appetite for what the true possibilities were.

The fact that the NFL is now running direct snap unbalanced single wing plays show the game is not static and the tactics that it dust off and reuses or tweaks, continually change. I could never expect EA to program every possibility. Give us the tools to do the job by allowing us to create any legal play from any legal formation.

The button mashers will always play the game for the joy of the joysticking better then the next guy and barking about it... THERE is nuthing wrong with that style of play..

I however prefer a different game. I don't see why the two styles cannot coexist even IF it had to be built in a seperate game (NFL coach? NCAA Coach? provided these can be improved so they are not so monotonous that the only joy is choosing the paint of the lockerrooms, yet still had the possiblity of porting the plays into the exisiting NCAA franchise like one supposedly can in NFL Coach to Madden)

Yes, please EA please. Play Creator. With my preferred offense, the Air Raid, EA has gotten a lot better with the default playbooks. But when I play I can't helped but be frustrated at how close together the linemen are. I would love to be able to set my lineman splits wider. Of course, the problem with that is the game isn't smart enough to line the defensive line up properly so it would defeat the purpose anyway.

Im all for a play editor, but seeing how EA put together the plays (Or how they showed us, with the Flexbone) I dont think we would ever see it. I'd rather have a play editor than a custom playbook feature though. I can just picture people taking advantage of the custom playbook though.

Indeed. The flexbone could have more pass opportunities. It could become the ultimate offense.
I could get some of the power formations I love too.
