Hi all, I am playing my coworker again today, and this time is for a big $10..and bragging rights!
I am Denver, he is Kansas City. I beat him last time we had these teams (he has a Cassell love affair)..lol> but it went to overtime, but he has beaten me 3 times in a row with the Saints and San Diego. I am using Arizona's offensive PB and the Jets D PB. He is going to use KC's Playbooks I think. I managed to shut down his big passes to Colston (finally, but the last game, he killed me on the run with Thomas and FB Heath Evans). He likes throwing it over the middle, and doing ISO runs and sweeps/hb tosses (I think). He has been running it a ton lately, since I've shut his long passes down. I have doing pretty well on offense with Denver, and I want to be able to stop him on offense. He goes for it on 4th and 9 all the time and somehow always gets it. I need help on how to stop the run, and passes over the middle. Thanks in advance! (we play in 3 hours) I am willing to listen to any advice! Last edited by DJ Funktacular; 11-05-2009 at 05:39 PM. |

I "should" be able to beat him this game.
I usually run alot of screens to the RB if nothing opens up. I'd like to throw deep on him, but he almost always has a safety and his CB covering my best receiver. I usually try running to the inside when I play the CPU, but since it doesn't work on him at all, what should I run on him? Any help is appreciated, as this game is hyped as the "Hamilton" Bowl. (he's on the $10 bill I think) LOL If I win, this will really shut him up, as he talks trash all day. I'm pretty much a noob at this game, since the only time I play is when it's against him. Thanks guys! |

Go ask Madden. I was in a similar situation and Asking Madden helped. Mix it up a little. You can also try covering the middle yourself with your MLB.
Does he use Play Action Pass? If so, use corner blitz or other blitzes.

Tendencies!!!!!
First of all, use a book that fit your style. No matter what your style is you've got 2 develop and practice plays outside of your normal play scheme. I've played my coworker probably over 500 games the last year and a half. You've got to keep it developing with new plays because of " Tendencies".

Well, I seem to be pretty comfortable with the Arizona and or Pats offensive PB.
I have been running the Jets one for about 3 games now. He doesn't get the big play anymore, but I don't seem to stop his short game over the middle. Sorry if this fits the "Go use the search feature!", but I am trying to be fairly specific with this thread. ![]() Should I just try stopping the run in tonight's game? One dimentional
U can certainly try 2 stop the run game. This may result in him becoming 1 dimentional. But there is the playaction once he got u hooked on the run. The key is shutting his run game down. If you can not the playaction cometh. Making him 1 sided makes easy for you to attack and get goodies (pic6).
