ALL-MADDEN LEVEL (Passing)

I practice with the all madden level today and every ball I threw was way overthrown. I read somewhere that using the left trigger does no good so I stopped. An to my surprise my QB threw the ball even worse. If I was trying to throw to the guy between the hashes in the center of the field. The ball left my QB hand going far left or right.

Can someone explain this and further more help?

So what about this left trigger passing thing. Is that worth using or not? I'll try pulling back on the pressure I'm applying when pressing the button.

That used to work, but it's been patched out.

Just don't bullet everything and only pass lead when it is advantageous to do so.

I think this is the confusing part for me. It's been patched out but it's still usable?

L2 is dead in Madden, has been all year on PS3. If your on XBOX, then it was patched out per P1 release details.

If your noticing a difference, don't take offense, but it's most likely in your head...knowing your doing somethind different so thinking your seeing something different.

In any case...your on the All-Madden diff...the AI does not let you compete for the most part. It's VERY HARD to do much...it's with all aspects...play D on All-Madden...the worst 52 rated RB in the game with pro-tak bust an 8 man tackle for 80 yards and a TD.

So by your measure there is no point in using the left trigger/ or pass lead. It doesn't work at all. If this is the case then maybe it's in my head after all.

Dude... One more question about whether the left trigger works and I'm gonna come to your house, break in, and fart on your pillow. LOL J/K

FORGET THE DAMN LEFT TRIGGER, IT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. But it's not really in your head.

Here's why... If you were expecting the left trigger to work, you are probably using the stick as if it still does. It's part of your muscle memory and you have to consciously STOP using the motions that paired with the left trigger.

You have to learn how to throw a high/low pass without the LT...

Imagine you are using the stick to throw the ball to a spot on the field, while the icon buttons (A,B,X,Y,RT on 360) control the speed and height of your passes (to a degree).

If you throw to a spot behind your receiver, it will naturally go over his head. If you tap the buttons the ball will be thrown higher. You will have to get used to the new mechanics (or OLD mechanics rather) to calm down those overthrows.

Give it some time, but start by laying off the stick when you throw passes. use button pressure instead. Then once you get the hang of it, use the stick to throw to a spot on the field.

Later

In All-Madden, passing is alot more strict.

1) There is no such thing as L-trigger anymore. It was in the 360 but now it's gone.

2) When you are pass leading, make sure you come to a complete stop so that your feet are set. Press the receiver button THEN the pass lead with the L-stick. If you use the L-stick just a little before you press the button, then your pass will be off because you moved as you were throwing, even if it didn't look like it.

3) If you really want to play it safe, then don't pass lead to wide open receivers. The problem with this is that it can cut down dramatically on your YAC.

My advice to you is get used to pressing the button BEFORE you lead. Throw a ton of passes doing this to get it into your muscle memory.

That no pass leadin to open recievers is what took me a while to get used to.

It seems like u can pass lead a lot better when ur reciever is facing tighter coverage an u lead them open.

I only did this for a while. Now, the only time I will do this is if it's third down and I don't want to chance an overthrow. For the most part, I will pass lead to get extra yards and I don't even use accurate QB's.
