Question Online defense

I am having the hardest time trying to stop anybody online. For starters all i ever see is adrian peterson or peyton manning. My run defense dosnt seem to stop my opponet when i need to make a stop. My pass defense is getting complete tourch. So i ask how can you get better at both of this defense online. Yes when i play the pass i play the cover combos 2-4 also i play the dropzone and the cover3flat as well. Against the run i used the sting pinch and the stingpinch zone along with the strong and weak blitz along with the gap press. I even audbile down from cover combos and send them on a blitz. But that hasnt done me anygood. So i ask what is the way to go inorder to get better on the defense side of the ball. Anyone that care to speak on this the floor is yours and THANKS ALC

Honestly, it's best to make your stops manually. I usually do so with an ILB or Safety. I run a base 3-4. With the 3-4 you pretty much have to send atleast 5 rushers to make it work effectively. Though 3-4-DoubleX/Z/TE ain't bad if you modify them into Cover2-Man Under, solid 4 man rush if set it up right with a D-line shift in the direction of the blitzing OLB or D-line spread.

A nice play against the run is 3-4-Normal-OLB Dogs Fire. It's basically a 5-2 Bear style front. Control the deep zone safety for extra support. I usually pinch the D-line if I know it's a run. Pretty tough to run up the middle when the Line is pinched.

I blitz A LOT out of the 3-4, period. I almost always send both OLBs. It helps create a nice foundation to work with. 3-4 Renegade (aka Engage8) is usually my go to Zone play, but I modify it for added coverage. I like to blitz my CBs too out of zone with plays like Wide Blitz and Crash Blitz as means to help against playaction and the occasional mix up, but I play maker the D-line to rush. I always freeze my defense to when using zone.

Defense

Ever since they removed the infamous cone, I have found defense tougher to play.

I, for one, enjoyed the cone.

Honestly, I never followed the cone. I always went by and still go by, what I would do in that particular situation if I was on offense.

Obviously, if someone is showing tendencies that are easy to pick up on, then of course you have no choice, but to jump on those.

I personally liked the cone for myself when passing. I got really good at using it and used it for my own personal advantage interms of timing and such. It was fun though to look off the people that followed the cone. But those usually were not the good players, so the cone is kinda rendered useless against a skilled player with patience.

I must admit it was a bit hard re-adjusting once they turned the cone off. I'm used to it now though.

That's because of a few things.

* Bad QB's are much easier to use without the cone. So AWR, and THA don't mean as much when trying to deliver an accurate pass. People use Vick, and Campbell, easily. If they had cone on, they'd throw passes all over the stands.

* When you can see where the QB is going to throw the ball it's easier to play defense. lol some people just follow the cone all around the field. If they are playing safety and you put the cone on the flats, here comes the safety running down to guard that area.

You play the 3-4 a lot like I do. Lets get a game in some time. I hope you are good. I'm tired of playing bums.
