Online Franchise Commissioners Cheating??????????/

this guy who is the commisioner of the online league I was in he played with the eagles and he actually made trades with the 49ers (CPU played) for Patrick Willis and the Jets(CPU played) for Kerry Rhodes and I think a few other players as well on D to bolster his D.

I beat him in first meeting we played and in 2nd game the Eagles edged me out (Giants) so I ended up 15-1 on the year. Come playoff time, I had his 17-7 at halftime and he ended up beating me 28-24 in playoffs. Ya know it really just then dawned on me though I knew in regular season he had bolstered his D. Hell if I could of bolstered mine just as he did then it would have been fair.

I was pissed and immediately quit the league. Wasnt even worth it to me. Just wondering if anyone experienced this before with the Commissioners trying to gain the upper hand?

Were you allowed to make trades with the CPU teams? Did you try? Because if you were and just didn't think to do it, then he didn't really cheat and you just didn't trake advantage of the rules in place.

Now, if trades required his approval and he wouldn't approve your trades when you tried, then he is cheating.

yeah that was bad

I'm thinking of creating a league and I know my 8 yr old son would want to join as well and I'm wondering if we would be able to play at same time play should he pick a team in which I will have to play?

I'm wondering if we would be able to be both logged in at same time on one system? I'm thinking not because usually when he has been playing a game , rather it be Madden or another game, and I go to sign in I think it says the previous user has to log off.

So help me if I'm wrong about this.

thanks

unsure. If that was the case then when I joined the league he should have made it known that "Everyone" had that option. In any normal circumstance those would not be the rules in place. I mean why would you make a mockery of being able to trade at will and be able to simply create and all star team.

that's why I didnt even attemp to try it because it definitely isnt the Norm.

In that case, then we can't really say he cheated. All we know is that the rules were really dumb.

I have either been involved or running a Madden league since Madden 2003 (http://www.maddentips.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=138622) and I know one of the worst thing that can happen is having a commissioner that doesn't seem to be playing fair. (The other is one that runs off with the prize money...)

While I agree with some of the posts that state technically your commissioner didn't break any rules, he did violate the spirit and the trust he has as commissioner. Nobody wants to be in a league where it appears the person running it will do whatever they can to win.

And making trades with a CPU run team for players that, if the team was human owns that trades would never go through, tells me your commish cares more about winning this year, then having a competitive, fair league for seasons to come.

In my league, we have specific rules regarding trades and trading with a CPU owned team isnt allowed.

But this just goes to why people uses glitches and other tricks to win. Some would rather "cheat" and win then play fairly and lose. Not just in Madden, but all walks of life.

My advice to you is to shake it off and look on this message board and others for more established leagues, those that have been around for a while and seem to have a good reputation.

do u know rather with cpu no trades on or off what does that mean?

it has an option for trades on w/no cpu trades, just on, and off.......

so whats the distinguishment from the 2 trade on options?

I'm asking this because i actually re-joined his league after talking to him earlier and he said there was a trade option before the deadline just like the real nfl. I went to create my own league just to check the diff options and actually i went to another league im in and see where the options for trades is " Any" so I attempted to make 2 trades and after I proposed it it is now pending. So I'm wondering does the commissioner has the final say so or what?
