I've found that on plays with a pulling guard, that aren't counters, like Power O seem to work best with Agressive line play (Slide Prot Up). When I do this the guy who is supposed to get blasted by the pull is usually 2 yards deep in the back field, but the puller nails him right when I get the ball. I cut inside him and sprint upfield if it's clear or make another cut if necessary.
The only problem I have in this is if he has a beast of lineman, like with the Vikings or the Redskins. With them half the time my guy gets beasted and im nailed for a loss. |

If I run to the outside (sweep, toss), I slide protect to that side to keep the DE at bay. If I run up the gut, I choose aggressive.
I think it helps. |

I dont know about you guys, but I slide protect to the way I run, tell me if I am wrong.
I never slide protect back, when I run up the middle for a short run I slide protct forward.
