Is there any disadvantages to the PS3 Skinny?

Today is the day I get my ps3, just wondering if I should get the Skinny. Its 299.00 !

Unless you have a ton of PS2 games you want to play, no. The Slim is the way to go. Runs cooler, uses less energy and is incredibly silent when running.

Haven't heard anything negative...I think it only has 2 USB ports which would suck if you play Rock Band/Guitar Hero with more than 2 people...That's all I would say.

Can't install linux on it, but most people don't anyway. You can't play ps2 games on the larger current version anyway

I guess one of the disadvantages would be that I have to order it? or have you guys seen them in video game stores?

I want to get a couple games..... Here are the ones Im thinking of getting.

You should be able to walk into any GameStop or WlaMart and walk out with a PS3 Slim today. Warhawk is only multiplayer and yes, it is still being played There is no single player (but there is an offline training mode). Let me know when you want to get going on it and I can make an unranked server room where we can chat while playing.

Absolutely, I really like team oriented multiplayer games.

uncharted 1 - must get game
mlb the show - must get game

if you only get 2 games, get those. uncharted one is old so you can probably get it dirt cheap. may want to wait a month and get the new version of mlb the show. some other suggestions:

bioshock
rise of the argonauts(17$)
little big planet


id skip madden, i know your a ps2 guy with madden, we played alot back in the day - you will be disappointed with the next gen version - id hold off til madden 2011

completely untrue. Guitar Hero comes with USB splitters
