Hot Route This Play - Zig Zags

Singleback Spread Flex – Chicago Bears Playbook

Zig Zags

My adjustments

1. Depending on hash always streak close side slot receiver.

2. Depending on hash always drag/curl sideline receiver.

Reads

1. If no press deliver the ball to the whip route on the sideline

2. If press check down to the HB out of the backfield

3. If zone check to the deep corner route

4. The Drag is your checkdown if you are facing pressure (along with the HBs route)

5. The streak is your user route – this can make this play work allllll game long.

How would YOU hot route this play?

  1. I think your hot route options are the most ideal. If defense was in a cover 3, I might just hot route both outside receivers to a streaks.

gibs as always great.. difficult to sayanything else but... maybe.....
depending on the hash level movement poor part beat to powerful part and put on a meat.
slant, move, or snuggle weakside reciever for a checkddown.

gibs as always good work.. hard to sayanything else but... maybe.....
depending on the hash mark motion weak side whip to strong side and put on a steak.
slant, drag, or curl weakside reciever for a checkddown.
this will give you a hybrid smash concept with a whip route instead of a hitch. A custom route on the weak side for a check down and you still have a nice route out of the back field.
