Madden 08 - Shotgun Trips TE RB Double Flip Concept
We showed how we like to get the RB wide open when using the
Shotgun Trips TE RB Double Flip Concept. We can build on that concept to get
the TE just as open against Dollar, Dime, and Quarter man coverages.
Pattern:
The pattern that we have the TE run for this concept is a streak
(seam)
Offensive Play Used:

Defensive Play Used:

How the Concept Works on the Field:

The first thing we want to do is flip the play at the play call
screen.

The RB (RB) and TE (TE) lined up on the left side, while the
three receivers line up on the right.

Three defenders are matched up in man coverage on the three receivers.

We flip the play, the TE and RB now line up on the right.

The CB2 now covers the RB at this point of the set up.

We hot route the RB on slant out. We could hot route him on any
pass route or even let him pass block.

We then moton him out to the right. The LB slides out to cover
him.

The CB2 is now matched up with the TE. Notice the CB2 is lined
up on the left, while the TE is line up on the right.

This leaves the CB2 no chance to defend the TE.

We throw a quick bullet pass to the TE ...

... for a 11 yard pick up.
Key Points:
- This concept does not work again 3-4, 4-3, 46, or Nickel man defenses.
- If you don't want the TE run a streak, hot route him on slant route or
call plays such as the TE Corner or HB Swing. Both those plays have him running
a corner route.
