New Year’s Resolutions - Madden Style
Welcome to 2010! Every year people make New Year’s Resolutions that, while made with good intentions, never end up being kept. I’ve got a couple in mind for myself, but we’ll just have to see how that goes.
Today, I’m going to help you make some Madden related New Year’s Resolutions that will not only make you a better player, but will also help you have more fun with the game (and extend its life a bit as well). So without further ado, let’s dive into some possibilities for this year. Feel free to claim as many of these for your own as you want.
- Resolution #1 - Make a vow to win a game online with every single team in the league (yeah, even the Bucs and Rams) in the next 60 days.
- Resolution #2 - Make a vow to learn at least one new offensive playbook in the next 30 days (you can download free play diagrams for all the playbooks to help you find a new one: PC Version | Mac Version).
- Resolution #3 - Make a vow to join a league and play through one full season no matter what.
- Resolution #4 - Make a vow to work at least five new packages into your offensive game plan.
- Resolution #5 - Make a vow to post at least one scheme idea at the VG Sports Offensive Strategy forum (teaching someone else is one of the best ways to learn yourself).
- Resolution #6 - Make a vow to follow MaddenTips.com at http://twitter.com/vgsports (this is an easy one, but I want you to experience at least some instant success with your resolutions).
- Resolution #7 - Make a vow to change your audibles to something completely different (staying unpredictable is your best weapon!).
- Resolution #8 - Make a vow to read at least one football related book in the next 30 days (you’ll be surprised at how many real life concepts can be effective in Madden).
- Resolution #9 - Make a vow to play at least 5 games using a style of play completely opposite to your normal one (if you are pass happy, grind it out on the ground. If you always blitz, play coverage schemes only). The more you can switch gears in a game, the better you will be as a player when adversity strikes.
- Resolution #10 - Make a vow to beat a friend of yours that you have had limited success against (don’t just beat them, thrash them!).
