Madden NFL 10 - Advanced Bump-n-Run Coverage
One of the features that has been in the game for some time now, but that you won’t find in the game manual, is delayed bump-n-run man coverage.
Delayed bump-n-run coverage allows your corners to press the receivers but not give away the coverage. You can fool opponents who are looking to get off a quick throw because they won’t see the press coming pre-snap.
Here is a breakdown of how it’s done. Veterans—you can’t do it the old-school way, as it’s been removed from the game.
Zone to Delayed Bump-n-Run Man Coverage

This method has been in the game for as long as we can remember. Most players don’t use it, but it works and it’s simple to pull off. All you have to do is come out in any zone coverage defense. Go ahead and call bump-n-run coverage, even though you are in zone coverage.

Next, audible into any man coverage defense. In this example, we use the formation audibles and audible into 4–3 Normal—2 Man Under. The cornerbacks line up at normal depth.

Once the ball is snapped, they jam the receivers at the line of scrimmage, creating delayed bump-n-run man coverage.
Flip the Defense for Delayed BNR

Another method that can be used to get delayed bump-n-run man coverage is to come out in any man defense and call bump-n-run man coverage.

We come out in the 4–3 Normal—2 Man Under. Next, flip the play. The cornerbacks will line up at their normal depth.

After the ball is snapped, they will jam the receivers at the line of scrimmage.
