you need fast guys on the side you are going to squib to. I think the optimal power is about a 1/4 or 1/2 inch from full power and you need to get it off to one side. I seem to have the most luck just moving the meter over a little bit vs all the way left or right. As soon as you kick, click over to the fastest guy and see if you can get it. When you get close, hit catch (triangle on PS3). I don’t get it a lot, but when I do, those are the circumstances. I believe kick power & accuracy come into play for how consistently you might be able to get it. I think it has to stop around the 30-35 for you to get it – between the hash & sideline.
As for the receiving team, you can increase your odds of getting it by using the double man return instead of the standard middle return.

With all of the starter and tournament guides purchased , I was woundering if i should only use one of the offensive and defensive guides at a time or could I MIX the starter and tournament guides together? I like most of plays on both the starter and tournament guides, offensively and defensively. I,v made two custom playbook on offence and made the audibles right by using the pass balance book for both guides and then i just use either the packers or texans def.

I’m playing teams with deep threats (moss, garcon, hester, etc.) and when I play cover four they kill me underneath and if i drop the line into coverage, then wait for their deep threat to beat the deep safties (which they do too often). I need a way to bring some heat and still protect deep. I’m on PS3 so I’d like to see how you guys would deal with the left side not getting any bump.

I have been using Chicago’s defensive playbook and coming out in the sugar 3 bluff out of the 4-1-6 formation. I have labbed and i am able to get outside heat from this formation, but I cannot figure out how to create a solid a-gap blitz. There has to be some way to get a free rusher through the a gap due to the alignment of the linebacker and safety stacked in both a gaps. So, how can I get a free rusher through the a gap with the least amount of guys blitzing possible and effective coverage behind it?

Guys, thanks for all the tips this year. I love the Stretch Play, I wasn’t using it prior to your breakdown on TWIM. I would like to add the wr screen and bubble screen to my arsenal and haven’t had any success in my lab sessions. How do I set up the wr screen and bubble screen?

I would say to check out the giants book, it has the stretch and some good screens. Screens aren’t good stock imo, you gotta mess around to find some good ones and call it in the right situation.

I use the bears and run the GB defense playbook. I played an opponent who never plays madden. He was the Vikings and asked madden every play and rushed 35x for 270 yards. How can I stop AP. He broke two tackles almost every run. I loaded the box with 8 players and still nothing. The wholes were crazy.

With a lot more online players playing a no huddle scheme with their offense. What is the best way to read an offense while on defense? Also what should I be looking for after the snap, to make better adjustment?
[Reply]
I understand that if you run a custom playbook and want to save the Audibles you choose the book you want as a Favourite team. Now you have an Offense set saved. But, What about the D? Would you have to use the same teams OFF and D to get the saved Audibles on both sides.
Eg, Using DET with the Carolina OFF Plbk. Using DET DEF Plbk. Is it one or the other?

From what I was told to have a custom Offense with all 5+audibles use the Pass Balance playbook and on defense use the 46 playbook. I have tried and can confirm that they do work. The custom defense playbook is a little tedious but once you complete it you will be happy with the results.

How do u contain the Wildcat Offense

Go to practice mode. Highlight a player and move him around in practice and see what you can do. I avoid playing D lineman or anyone in man to man. Instead, I play safety or someone in zone. Don’t hit the turbo unless you absolutely must. Use strafe (L2 in PS3) to square up for a tackle or interception. If trying to stop a pass, best to begin with swat (PS L1), which you should hold down as soon as ball is thrown. Don’t wait for pass to get close. And practice over and over against runs and passes. Won’t come to you overnight, but my biggest thrill is a good defensive play. Good luck.

Has always been easy for me — goal line D works. Blitz cornerbacks if you have time, because so many of the plays run outside.
But my advise only works if O has a running back taking the snap. If a real QB takes snap, this won’t work.

Sup guys, I played an online game the other day and the opponent started the game with a squib kick that he recovered. He scored on his 1st drive, then went back to the squib kick which he recovered after I switched player and tried to pick up the ball in a fail attempt. HOw do I stop this CHEESE!!

guys, my wife and i was at the Ravens vs Cowboys game. my first question is: do you think the “Madden Curse” got my boy Ray Lewis? After all, he promoted the game with his commercials and he is in the introduction on the game itself and now his season is done with a torn triceps.
2. can you guys show me a solid 3-4 roster set up for the Ravens?
3. what is a killer 3-4 defensive scheme to use with the Ravens Dbook?
