  1. I’m still waiting for the damn DL to finish. The network must be a bit boggy from all the the activity.

I hope NCAA and madden don’t play the same. Sometimes they are similar. No way defense can be that bad.

  2. Don’t judge Madden based off of NCAA. From what I’ve heard, aside from the additions both games received, NCAA 12 feels more like Madden 11 – while Madden 12 feels more like Madden 10. Plus, NCAA has always been the more offensive game. From what I’ve heard of Madden 12, there is a big focus on physicality – so the defense will be there. Most people think custom playbooks will cause an offensive explosion, but that will be as much a boon for defense as offense.

  3. Maybe I expected to much. Agree zone but improved but seams and streaks exploit it. Zone handles the short stuff but with man being so bad there won’t he any type of balance.

  4. Ron, this game is bad bro. Man d is worst than Madden 08, not penetration from the front 4, seams kill zone,……..its just aweful. I played about 15 mins. It makes Madden 11 look good………and thats not good.

  5. I agree that man coverage isn’t good, but zone coverage is awesome. The zoned defenders really take away the angle of throws if there is only one target receiver in their area.

I also really like that if a receiver gets hits as he’s trying to catch the ball, he rarely catches it. That’s much more realistic than the nano-handed receivers that Madden and NCAA has had in the past.

One bug that needs to be fixed though; option play pitches from the QB that are knocked down are incomplete passes – rather than fumbles.

  6. I don’t know about y’all but I’m feeling this game. I don’t really think they stake. The fluidity is a tad over done but nothing like skating.

Man defense is there. I use Zone/Man mix almost every time I run man defense so I can cover the middle. Have been doing so for years.

The visuals are well done, NCAA graphics are always well done.

Catch in traffic usually ends up in a drop which is accurate.

The balance is nice to have. Both offense and defense seem very balanced.

I don’t know guys. I like it a lot. I’ve never actually bought a NCAA game before because I’m a loyal NFL guy but the last few years NCAA has been pretty good.

    The broken tackles are good

You get rewarded a lot of times creating a play. (For instance I swam, off a block and wrapped up the ball carrier quickly which resulted in a fumble) Nice to get rewarded for a good play.

I’ve played my 1st few games on all American, I’ll step it up to Heisman shortly. I just like to get a feel for the game on both the hardest difficulties and I’m enjoying it on All American right now.

    I like it so far.

  7. I know every school thinks that they should get more screen time than their crosstown rival – but I really think Auburn got a little slighted in this demo! Here are my reasons:

    * Auburn played Oregon this year for the National Championship. That would be a great matchup game… but it’s not a choice. You can play as Oregon, but not Auburn.

    * Maybe it’s really just coincidence, but you CAN play as Alabama in the demo! Hmm. (You can also play as Texas from the previous National Championship game, but that doesn’t seem as much of a conspiracy).

    * When you watch the video about the new features, the narrator says “And even on the small schools…” as they show Auburn’s stadium.

    * When you send the demo invite to your friends, you unlock uniforms from Alabama and 4 others.

I say this tongue-in-cheek, because as a National Championship winner I thought I’d get more love. I don’t expect it to be NCAA 12/Auburn, but the demo really seemed to leave us out. Maybe it’s the ESPN influence? Ha, ha.

And I’m speaking purely about the demo. The game will have Heisman winner Mark Ingram on it. Sure he’s Alabama, and he’s the Heisman winner from the previous year, but that’s still an honor for our state and I think that’s cool.

The camera work in the game feels jerky, but it is an early build like they said. I’m looking forward to this one more than I have in the past few years.
