These are not just a bunch of money plays served up to turn you into some kind of Madden robot like other sites offer. I put the challenge out there to Kobra to again reinvent the wheel and come up with his best breakdown yet. I wanted our most indepth playbook breakdown ever, one even better than Oakland's last year. I wanted something that would just blow the defense out of the water... Even for players without top flight stick control!
You may already have a good playbook labbed up. You are moving the ball pretty well, but from time to time you face an opponent that totally breaks down your game. You can always improve. You can always learn new things. Even the most elite ballers need plays to add to their bag of tricks.
And I'm talking about plays that will shred any defense. Zone, Man, Bump-N-Run, Nano Heat...whatever. Bring it on!

For this example, we call the Singleback Trips Bunch Read Midddle. Take a look at how the FL (B) lines up. Notice that he lines up about 1 yard off the line of scrimmage. That is one of the keys to getting the angle fade route into any formation. Only receivers that line up off the line of scrimmage can run angle fade route.. There is one more key to being able to have a receiver run the angle fade route, and that's how many yards to go to the first down or goal line. If it's less than five yards, you can have any receiver who is lined up off the line of scrimmage run the angle fade route. If you're inside your opponent's 10 yard line, you can have any receiver(s) lined up off the line of scrimmage run the angle fade route, provided that you run the ball first. For instance, say it's first and goal, and you are at your opponent's 9 yard line. From what we've seen, a run play must be ran. On second down, you now can have a receiver(s) run the angle fade route. Kobra Tip: Granted, we have not tested every play or scenario, so you might not have the exact same results. We highly suggest you lab it to see what works and what doesn't.
To get the receivers to line up off the line of scrimmage to run angle fade routes, first press the Y button (triangle for PS2), then press the receiver's pass icon (in this case X), and then press up on the R stick. The receiver will now run a fade route. Notice that the FL is now running a playmaker fade.
Next, you want to again press the Y button, then the receiver's pass icon, and then down on the R stick. The receiver will now run the angle fade route. Kobra Play Tip: You may want to hot route at least one of the inside receivers on a streak to force the safeties to cover him. This is more important when running the angle fade route outside of the red zone.
The LCB will jam the receiver at the line of scrimmage.
We must wait until the FL breaks the jam before making the throw. If the ball is thrown anytime before he does, then the FL won't be open. Kobra Play Tip: When throwing into the red zone when running the angle fade, we prefer tall receivers. If needed, we will package one in.
We lob the pass high up in the air. The FL makes the catch in the back of endzone for 6 points. Kobra Play Tip: You cannot lab the angle fade route in practice mode. You must
do it in a real game. We'd like to show how to use it when not inside the red zone. What we like most about the angle fade route is that it can be used against man and zone coverage. In this write-up, we will show how to attack zone coverage.
We come out in the Singleback Big Corners. Notice that the TE1 (Y) is already running a streak. If he weren't running a steak, we would hot route him on one.
Next, playmaker the FL on a fade route. To do this, press the hot route button, then the receiver's pass icon, and then up on the R3 stick. The receiver will now run the playmaker fade route. For those of you who have followed us over the last few years, you have seen this route combination (TE streak, FL Fade) countless times. In Madden 2005 and 2006, this route combo was deadly against zone coverage, particularly Cover 3. In Madden '07, EA has improved the coverage and defenders are in better position to defend it.
However, if you change the receiver's pass route to an angle fade route (press the hot route button, then the receiver's pass icon, and then down on the R3 stick), it becomes an effective route combination again. Notice that in the screen shot above, the FL pass route has him running towards the sideline at an angle, before breaking up the field on a streak.
If you were to run the play as is, the LCB would not bite in on the TE like he did in Madden '05 and '06. Instead, he would cover the FL. You need to take control of the FL and motion him to the left.
Just as he gets to the QB, you want to stop the FL and motion him back to the right.
Just as the FL gets off the line of scrimmage, snap the ball.
You have to wait until the FL gets clear of the defender playing the flat.
Notice all the defenders that are around the TE. No defender is even close to the FL.
We throw a bullet pass to the FL.
