Last night just before the EA Sports UStream broadcast at Bryant Park got rained out, it was announced that this year’s Madden 12 demo would be released on August 9th.
This release date gives all die-hard Madden fans three full weeks to practice before the game drops on August 30th. With all of the new features that EA Sports is bringing to the table this year, we can’t wait to get our hands on the demo.
This year you will be able to play with two of America’s favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and the Super Bowl winning Green Bay Packers. The two teams will meet up for battle on the iconic Soldier Field in Chicago Illinois. These two teams are going to be very fun to play with this year.
One of the best features of this demo is going to be 5 minute quarters! The longer quarters in the demo will give players the opportunity to fully open up their playbooks without the threat of time running out. The only thing that will be missing in this year’s demo is in-game commentary. The lack of in-game commentary will decrease the file size, resulting in faster downloads.
The Packers haven’t lost any key players since their Super Bowl win last season. Aaron Rodgers has the ability to be one of the top three quarterbacks in this year’s game. He has the arm strength to throw any pass on the field and the the accuracy to go along with it.
Returning with Rodgers is a great three headed receiving core and a solid running back in Ryan Grant. Just because the Packers have a lot of fire-power on offense doesn’t mean you can overlook their defense. With players like Matthews and Woodson, the Packers are going to be one tough defense to move the ball on.
Some people may ask why the Bears in the demo over a few other teams? Well for one it gives the Madden team the opportunity to showcase a realistic Soldier Field instead of the fake version that has plagued previous games.
Plus this is going to be a Bears team this year that you are going to want to play with. This matchup is more than just a rivalry game, it’s a match up between two good Madden teams. The Bears bring just as much offensive fire-power to the field with Cutler, Forte, and Knox. In addition they also have one of the scariest deep threats in all of Madden with Hester. On defense The Bears are going to be a solid team that is always anchored by their future Hall of Fame LB Brian Urlacher.
