Top 10 Receivers in Madden NFL 13

Madden NFL 13 Cover Athlete Calvin Johnson is the highest rated receiver in the game.

EA SPORTS released the Top 10 Receivers in Madden NFL 13 today. Below you can see the Top 10 list.

Does Rob Gronkowski (rated 97 OVR) deserve the #2 rated spot? He had a record setting season for a TE last year but can he compete with guys like Calvin Johnson (rated 99 OVR) and Larry FItzgerald (rated 97 OVR).

We also see that WR Andre Johnson has been given a 97 OVR rating. With his recent history of injuries its only a matter of time before we see Johnson fall from Madden grace. Will he rebound this year and prove he is one of the best in the NFL?

Comment below and let us know what you think about the Top 10 Receivers in Madden NFL 13!

Calvin Johnson – 99
Rob Gronkowski – 97
Larry Fitzgerald – 97
Andre Johnson – 97
Vernon Davis – 95

  1. really? hakeem nicks? not a top 10 wr…. replace him with colston. and i could not disagree more with your opinion on andre, just a couple of injuries is going to cause him to NEVER be the same? no.

I also raise this question to you Gibs, on your breakdown of the top 10 RB list you said... ". Jones-Drew is an elite RB but does he deserve the #1 spot in the game? His 1,606 yards last season say yes."

I will not argue on Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham placement on the top 10 WR list. Both had outstanding breakout seasons, but Vernon Davis... really? I understand the man is extreme fast for his position, but let's look at production.

Like I said prior, if we are going to implement TEs into the top 10 WR list IMO Jason Witten should be the #3 TE on this list due to his consistency behind Rob Gronkowski & Jimmy Graham... not Vernon Davis. Jason Witten's overall rating should be atleast a 93-94. I'd probably value Vernon Davis's overall rating at 90-91 simply due to production.

What is your thoughts on this Gibs? And, what are MBNation's thoughts?

I would take gronk and put him at 3, and Larry sticky at 2.

AJ is still one of the best in league so its his spot to lose via updates.

That #9 spot is definitely up for grabs this year because the maturation of Julio Jones is in full force. I could see him jump to the top ten in week two.

If we're implementing TEs into the top 10 WR catagory, why isn't Jason Witten a top 10 candidate? I know he didn't have the best year of his career last season with 79 receptions, 942 yards, 5 TDs... but that is partially due to Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, and the break out season of Laurent Robinson. Witten has been a prime example of consistency over the past five seasons with his sure hands, crisp route running capabilities, high IQ, and his solid overall game.

    - 96 receptions, 1145 yards, 7 TDs
    - 81 receptions, 952 yards, 4 TDs
    - 94 receptions, 1030 yards, 2 TDs
    - 94 receptions, 1002 yards, 9 TDs
    - 79 receptions, 942 yards, 5 TDs

: With the Cowboys lacking depth at the WR position, nagging injuries for Miles Austin & Dez Bryant, and not knowing who their #3 WR is going to be... look for Jason Witten to have a year in this 2012 season!
