  1. Shut Down the Atlanta Playbook Option - One of the hardest run schemes to deal with from a defensive standpoint in Madden is the Option. Many people who use the option are running it out of the ATL playbook, so Ron put the focus on how to completely dominate the option game and frustrate your opponents.


  2. Lock Down the Full House Strong - I know you guys have seen a lot of the Full House being used. This formation is primarily used out of the Run-N-Gun playbook, but can also be found in the Run Heavy playbook. But most of the time when you see this formation it will be by an opponent who is running the Run-N-Gun playbook. Ron's schemes will blow up plays before they ever get out of the backfield.

  3. Break Down the Shotgun Tight - This is one of the toughest formations to defend against in Madden. Ron shows you how to mix up your defensive schemes and sets to confuse your opponent, take away his favorite reads and force him into turnovers and mistakes.


  4. Smoke the Shotgun Trios - This formation allows our opponent to throw off our man coverage, simply by flipping the play when we come out in a traditional pass first defensive formation. Ron first addresses how to keep this glitch from affecting you, then shows you how to create mad turnovers and sacks.

  5. Deflate the 2RB Flex, Trips Bunch & 5 Wide Sets - If Romo has been beating you up for the Shotgun 2 Back, or tons of receivers releasing into patterns is chewing up your defense, then this is the section for you. Schemes and blitzes galore to tighten up your coverage and break down the QB.

46 Bear Wall Slide
Defensive Plays Used:

The Wall Slide is a play that still gives us the pressure that you saw in the Engage Eight set up with the added protection of the Purple zone. We also benefit from already having one of our playmaker coverages already in the play design.


Offensive Play Used:

This play is a prime example of what many Tight users want to do when attacking a defense. They use drags and crossing route to create picks and get easy open routes.

We set the play up just as before. Shift the linebackers to the left (RB + Left), playmaker the MLB to Blitz (A + Down on the Right Analog) and crash the D-line (RB + Right Analog Down)

We already have a man on the left side in yellow zone, so all we do next is put the defensive end in yellow zone (A + Up on the Left Analog)

The last step is to put the cornerbacks in flat zone. (A + Right on the Right Analog stick)

The offense won't take the running back out of the pass route because he is running a delay route. They still shows us the same look and motions him to the left, hiking the ball just as he gets behind the center.

Once the play starts, we see that the running back runs through the line to make a block, missing our middle linebacker and giving us instant pressure before any receiver can get into their route.

They do have an inside slot that looks like they could try and go to, but the pressure is so fast that they really have to think of bailing out.

As the QB rolls out you see that we are still pretty well protected to this side of the field and the only option is a throw back across the field. That isn't even an option because of our blitzing defender.

The Quarterback gets taken down for a sack and a loss of 9 yards on the play. That's two plays, the Engage Eight and the Wall Slide out of the 46 Bear. There are multiple ways that you can attack this formation. My primary choice of attack is with pressure to force an errant throw or sack. We can also attack with coverage which I will show next.
